Has anyone heard anything lately regarding naming rights or what they will be calling the new stadium.

Last I heard was they expected some kind of announcement this past winter but nothing came.

Just was wondering if anyone heard an update.

Heard the economy has really hurt interest in some company upping mega-dollars for the name and that it may have to wait a year or two.

Last I heard Jerry wasn't getting the asking price. The reasoning is that no corporation is interested in spending that kind of money on marketing during a recession.

From what I understood, they are waiting to negotiate a long term agreement when the asking price can be met. Which means it may be without a corporate identity for the first season. At least they said that was a possibility.

I heard media outlets simply call it "Cowboys Stadium".

I may be wrong here. But that's the last I heard.

I think AT&T will end up doing the deal, but they'll wait a year or two until the economic climate is such that they wouldn't take a huge PR hit for spending so much on advertising (even though it isn't really that much).

Fly Emirates... they have the kind of money Jerry is looking for.

"that big thing" next to the "Ballpark in Arlington" or whatever they call that where the Rangers play...I mean the Strangers....

I think AIG is putting an offer together that will ensure naming rights thru the Super Bowl in 2011.

Should call it Tex Schramm Stadium or Tom Landry Stadium and call it a day.

I agree, especially while there is no corporate sponsor. Unfortunately, I think that Jerry's ego is too big to do something like that and let someone else be the face/name of the franchise.
