Not sure where I heard it, may have been the broadcast of last weeks game, but I thought I heard that the Cowboys were going to keep the "Hole" in the roof open for all games, regardless of weather.

I know it is going to have a retractable roof but why would they do that in inclement weather?

Anyone else hear that?

BTW, I heard Gil Brandt yesterday tell the storu as to why the hole was in the roof to start with.

He said it was there because if they closed it in, the bill for the A/C would be too high.

I have heard other stories but that was what Brandt said on Sirius Radio. FYI.

they want to keep the tradition of open roof.....but they have to have a closed dome before they can host Super Bowl.....

I hope this isn't the case. We're a better football team in good weather, and I think they should definitely close it during rain or snow.

There are plenty of other traditions that don't jeopardize winning.

We were just not at our best in the cold. We're fine in the rain. There's been a couple times the last couple seasons it's rained at Texas Stadium and there were no problems with our play. Same when we were at the Skins this year, and it rained at the Browns game.

Just because Romo had a bad game in 9 degree weather against the Steelers doesn't mean we're a bad team in inclement weather.

I for one hope they keep it open for all games. I don't want to become a "dome team".

Jerry definitely said it would be closed on game day. Don't who the dude you're speaking of, but I believe the owner.

They want to be able to close it for Final 4 games, superbowls, other college games, Concerts, the world series of poker tourny's.

i thought there were some guidelines in place(temperature and rain wise) to close the roof in advance.

I've read the opposite. IIRC, the hole is only going to open when conditions are nice.

100 degrees in Sept and you don't close it and turn the air on, that'd just be stupid!

I find it very hard to believe that the only time the roof will be closed is during the Super Bowl or other non-football events.
