New Whipping Boy(s)

2011-2012: Terence Newman, Alan Ball, Bradie James, Keith Brooking
2010-2011: Wade Phillips, Mike Jenkins, Marion Barber
2009-2010: Flozell Adams, Ken Hamlin, Roy Williams, Terrell Owens, Adam Jones

That's an interesting list considering 11 of those 12 are now off the team and none of them outside of Wade has really made a peep since seeking employment elsewhere.
Seems like "whipping boys" tend to earn their whippings. :laugh2:

Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett, Mike Jenkins, Felix Jones, Anthony Spencer, and basically anyone wearing the star on their helmet at some point or another.

I was just about to say this, but decided to read on further.

It will be a variety of people at first, but by mid season if not all going perfect, someone will stand out. Rather it's deserved or not.

My early guess, Costa, but that's pretty much a given. And Spencer if he doesn't ave 10 sacks by mid season to some critics.

So I will say one of the Safeties.

whoever doesnt produce to their capabilities or is not putting the teams goals before their needs

This board is usually ahead of the team when it comes to saying goodbye. Ahead by a year in most cases.

The funny part is, the majority of the players who were listed as "whipping boys" were absolutely terrible in those years.

Interesting how that works.

So here's my guess. Whoever sucks the most.

Hey, they've just got the courage to call it like they see it.

It's only coincidence they see it the way Sk*ns fans, Giants fans, or Eagles fans do.

Skins, Giants, and Eagles fans tend to be more respectful of Witten than the couple of haters around here are. Kind of sad, actually.

Lately the fans of those teams seem to admit that we have at least two great ones in Witten and Ware.

Heh. But they're just realists. You can keep pumping your sunshine all you want.
Have you noticed that the self proclaimed "realists" are always negative? Can't those of us that are positive thinkers be realists too?:D

Depends on what we do. If we win the Super Bowl, you won't see one negative post out of me.

And therein lies the hand-picking of information to fit an agenda.

All of those players were whipping boys LONG before their final years on the Dallas Cowboys.

That's not always true. I consider myself to be extremely positive. Jerry Jones has always been golden in my book and I would defend him whenever the opportunity presented itself. He has done said some things recently that I don't like and think are questionable. I know it's not the most popular position around here but I can't pretend like I don't see it.

Jason Witten does not deserve to be talked bad about. This guy has played for our team for a long time. As far as i remember he has played hard and been a good person for this team. Players do go on the decline of course. But he should not be talked about! Mike Jenkins on the other hand depending on how he is ready to contribute or not will deserve it. I dont know all the facts but he should shut his mouth and play his role and we would have a team that much better. I am interested in seeing how he handles this whole thing!

Long before?

How many even played in Dallas long enough to qualify as having a period that would be "long before".

Ken Hamlin had like 1 season prior to his "whipping boy" season.

Guess when you sign a big contract and proceed to suck the following year you might get a little resentment from the fans.

Roy Williams was never good in Dallas.

Pacman and TO earned every ounce of hate they received by being turds prior to arriving.

The only one's who may even qualify are James, Newman and Adams.

Time will tell. But most of these so called "whipping boys" deserved to be.

Carr and the rest of the secondary. I say this despite the fact that I think we'll see a lot of improvement.

Fans just cannot accept the fact that--no matter what--opposing quarterbacks are going to throw for 3,000 plus yards on the Boys and at least 22-25 TDs. No. Matter. What.

True shut down corners simply don't exist, and fans expectations are just unrealistic when it comes to pass defense.

Unfortunately, Brandon Carr

The first big play....and if we lose to the Giants

Threads will be

"Carr Sucks, Jerry you are stupid"

"Carr=over paid, nobody listened"

"Oh great Terence Newman's Brother is out there." ect

Ultimately the front 7 will get judged the hardest....

Trust me when i say this, this might be the year fans start to turn on Ware and Ratliff..if his neck acts up.."He's damaged goods, get rid of him"
