Somehow, if you don't have a twinkle in your eye and an unyielding adoration and crush on Tony Romo, then you're unfit to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys in some peoples opinion.
There appears to be a substantial amount of people around here that conclude, if any criticism WHATSOEVER is directed in Romo's direction, that makes you "not a fan".
Either turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to any and all imperfections, or your a "turn-coat" UN-fan impostor, and you have no business posting around here.
From here on out, these adoring and fawning "kool-aid drinkers" will be referred to as "Romophobes". You know, either you get on board, or you'll be labled a "fair weather fan" or told to "go root for the Commanders". Or some other sophmoric drivel that's delivered when you run out of arguments.
Fact is, is that Ray Lewis probably had the most perfect analysis and take on Romo. And REAL Cowboy fans see that our starting QB is not prepared or ready to take us to the promised land.............just yet.
Maybe someday he will. Perhaps. But stating the current situation and standing of our starting QB as fact seems to draw the ire of some around here.
That doesn't change the truth. Tony Romo is a highlight reel of adventures and turn-overs, and "up and down" QB play.
You "Romophobes" may call me a name now..............

you get the prize. good one.

I said I before the season, he should become more of a game manager, and the team more run first. It seems he can't quite handle the pressure of a playoff or playoff type game. I will support him, because of what we've had since Troy retired, but it's not blind support.

Strong d and running game, less pressure on QB.

You don't get a name yet...because you were reasonable enough to say "yet" about Romo.

Yeah. Amen. That's been the problem.
Any casual observer would HAVE TO ADMIT that it's a "work in progress".
He's good. Damn good. Glad to have him for sure. But a "championship QB"?? Not quite.
In fact, he has a ways to go. What's so wrong with stating the obvious. I understand that after the last 4 or 5 guys we've had since Troy Aikman, that this guy looks like the Dali Lama. But the predicate of who we're comparing him to must be put out there. Bledsoe? Quincy Carter? Ryan Leaf? And a hodge-podge of ex-baseball player-Michigan-second teamers?
Of course he looks GREAT against THAT rabble.

But, is he Roger or Troy? Because that is what some folk make him, pre-maturely IMO, make him out to be. I hope and pray that he WILL BE or perhaps IS just that. But to date, he's a tick or two short.
Romo needs to get to the next level IMO. And I'd be surprised if my opinion isn't in the majority.

He's soft and not very smart with above average talent. The people taht compared him to Danny White should be ashamed. He's not even in Danny White's class............although with that O.Line........ahhh never mind.

The defense gave up a bunch of points....seems like that would cause more concern than Romo.

yes, because of being on the field the entire first half due to Romo and the offense's ineptitude. The defense put us in position to get our first TD. We got nothing from our offense until the 4th quarter.

Tony may be a lot more like Brett Favre that we'd like to think; he'll get a lot of passing yards and engineer some amazing comebacks, but unless forced to play within a system and curb some of his own instincts, it may only be one or two Super Bowl appearances at best.

Remember how Favre looked as a Packer against the Cowboys. In a lot of cases he didn't live up to his reputation when he really needed to. And generally a QB is expected to be the difference maker. Some of that is due to those Dallas defenses, but in the end Favre's legacy is probably that he was a helluva entertaining player to watch, dangerous a lot of the time, but not someone that consistently led his team to the prize. With the Jets, he's got one last chance to change that.

Tony has time on his side, but he's starting to build the wrong kind of resume for this time of year. With the amount of paper talent assembled for this team, it's becoming a little disappointing to use the phrase "he's still learning". It's probably true, but why then the postseason expectations? The team hasn't learned how to close games out consistently, along with a lack of fundamentals. Until they do, this sort of thing may keep happening. If embarassment is a motivator for change, there should already be plenty of that to draw on.
