Perfect for this scheme. Very good footwork and alot of experience.

RD2 Deforest Buckner DE Oregon
Quick off the snap and has the length and size to play thie strongside.

RD3 Todd Gurley RB Georgia
Will drop because of the injury, but if hes there at this spot would be a steal.

RD4 Ladarius Gunter CB Miami
Tall long CB who plays physical and tackles

RD5 Sean Mannion QB Oregon State
Big QB who lost his playmakers to the NFL. Think he is going to develop into something.

RD7 AJ Tarpley LB Stanford
Physical tackling machine

1, if not both, of Parnell and Free will be brought back and have proven to be at least above average RT's. Spending another 1st round pick on the o line to replace a player that isn't a problem is a huge overkill in my opinion....I'm sure a lot of people will disagree though.

I need to watch more of Buckner to get a feel for his quickness off of the line to see if he is a fit in the 4-3, but his size and athleticism is extremely intriguing for sure. Something tells me he doesn't last until the late 2nd though....

Would have no problem at all with Gurley if he were to fall to the 3rd....again, not sure if he will.

I like Gunter...good length and speed

I'm not a fan of the 5th round "developmental" QB pick ever....95% of the time it's a waste of a pick, but a 5th rounder isn't the worst thing in the world to take a shot on that 5% chance I guess. I am a sucker for the tall QB with strong arm...

Tarpley would probably make a good ST's player and decent backup

At the end of round 1 Stanley would be right at the top of BPA

Not a fan of this pick at all. Stanley only has two years of college football. Probably needs a couple years to fully blossom. High upside but slow out of gates is very likely. OL is very unlikely in R1.

RD2 Deforest Buckner DE Oregon
He is very quick and very long. but he is really light for his size. Would need to demonstrate elite strength in the pro days to warrant this pick. Probably another 2-3 year developmental guy.

RD3 Todd Gurley RB Georgia
If he drops this far it is because teams think he needs a year to heal or worry he won't ever be right again.

RD4 Ladarius Gunter CB Miami
I like this pick a lot. Right spot to get a young guy who can compete and help on ST. Florida CBs are mentally tough and play with a swagger.

RD5 Sean Mannion QB Oregon State
Not at all a fan. I dislike big guys who can't move well. It is really critical to shrug off a tackle to make a guy miss at QB nowadays.
Wouldn't hate a shot at a QB in this draft but I'd prefer a guy who makes his own plays over a pocket passer.

RD7 AJ Tarpley LB Stanford
Whoever we take in 7 is fine by me.

If Stanley is by far the BPA, then fine, but I would expect other players on the same tier to be available there and if defensive players are on the same tier then I expect them to be the pick. The Cowboys are winning with Free/Parnell and one of them will return.

I like Buckner.

I hate giving up a year on a rookie's 4 year contract. Gurley was probably a late 1st / early 2nd without the injury based on how RBs are drafted these days. You have to give up a year to get about a 1 or 1.5 round discount. If you consider that in trades a 2015 3rd is worth a 2016 2nd, you're really not getting much of a discount. Oddly, I do like taking injured players in later rounds because those players are unlikely to contribute as rookies anyway.

A bigger CB with speed would be good. The Cowboys are a bit smallish at CB after Carr.

It's hard for me to say w/o knowing who else is available, but I like the Stanley pick at the end of round one. Buckner's a good pick too. I think Gurley will go a lot sooner than you think, though. LOVE the Gunter pick. Guy is tall and has and good speed but looks a little skinny. ACC QBs mostly stayed away from him this year. Not a big Mannion fan. My QB project of choice is Shane Carden. He disappointed some in Birmingham, but then, he had Dante Fowler in his face the whole game. The ECU offense can be a little bit of a dink and dunk show, but he has a really quick release and seems to make quick decisions. He did make a few nice medium-long throws in the VPI and Florida games (only two I've seen him play).

I saw him at 260. At 290 he is obviously big enough to play anywhere along the DL.
If he really is over 285 he has to go round 1 as he looked very quick versus FSU.
Former basketball player.

I could see him end up in the 1st. The ranking are never accurate this time of year.

He didn't look as big or strong as Oakman but he also took no plays off.
If he was that big he clearly can handle playing at that weight as a pro.
Oakman on the other hand needs to be in a rotation because he can't go hard 7+ plays in a row.
I'd probably rate them both mid 1st based on upside potential which is pretty outstanding.

I actually think Gunter is my favorite pick in this. I like the idea of taking a tackle, but I don't think I do in the first round unless they are really head and shoulders above the guys that would be available in the next couple of rounds.

Unfortunately, I think the DEs in this class are pretty weak...so BPA in the first - if it is a tackle so be it - might be the only option.

yeah these top DEs are more tweener types. And if you look at them on draftbreakdown you can see that none are really that quick off the snap. I really like O.O and Buckner over all these first rounders that will be in the area dallas will be drafting.
