Newark-Star-Ledger: Jacobs Doubtful Against Cowboys...

Newark Star-Ledger reporter Mike Garafalo considers Brandon Jacobs (knee) "doubtful" to play in Week 15 against Dallas.

Jacobs missed his second consecutive practice Thursday. While he might try to give it a go on Friday, the Giants shouldn't be pushing him. They've already clinched the NFC East and will need Jacobs in Week 16 against Carolina. That game could determine who gets the No. 1 postseason seed in the NFC.

Doesn't matter. They still have Ward and Bradshaw, who ran all over us last time. And we have no safeties left.:(

It does matter because our defense wore down in that game and Ward and Bradshaw benefitted from jacobs running well early in that game. I really am not worried about this game. I think the Giants are very vulnerable right now. I thought this all along but especially now. I never looked at them as some dominant force that was going to be hard to beat. They have been playing extremely well this year but aren't the type of team that can just show up and beat you.

It seems since the injuries on defense as a group they have played better honestly.

The second Jacobs got injured it was clear that he'd miss some time.

Ward and Bradshaw do not worry me at all.

We will key on the run and make Manning beat us.

Doesn't matter. It's that OL that makes that running game go, not Brandon Jacobs.

Yup, but he also does a pretty good job of talking some of our knuckleheads into mixing it up with their knuckleheads... and we often end up with the penalties, not them.

I agree about their OL, but it's the effect Jacobs has on safeties that we'd be spared from. Having Ward and Bradshaw going against our backup safeties provides a great deal of relief to me...and I'm sure to Courtney Brown, Ken Hamlin, Alan Ball, and Tre Battle.

Having him out makes a HUGE difference IMO.

Bradshaw does scare me, that line opens gaping holes and he has the wheels to go all the way.

But on the bright side, without burress and jacobs, their skill players look exactly like the steelers and we took away everything until that momentum changing catch newman gave up.

I think we match up really well this week. IF hamlin can play we should be in good shape.

Oh come on, you don't want to see someone get Laron Landry-ed?

As long as we don't put NY into any 3rd and Longs our defense should be just fine.

It matters a great deal. Even with Jacobs in there I feel like they weren't going to really run on us this week cause of the fact that this time around Dallas can, and will, be able to slide 8 into the box.

Vastly different situations in this game from the last time.
