Martin is the only Cowboy to ever win a Player of the Year award--defensive or offensive. That alone should have put him in the ring years ago, even ignoring the fact that we won the Super Bowl the year that he did it.

Drew Pearson first

Sadly you'll never see that. Jerry has had problems with DP ( business problems and such too long to get into ) and he has said Tex should have put them in there he is responsible for " his " ( newer Cowboys ) Players.

If Ed Jones goes in, then Harvey Martin goes in, then Cliff Harris goes in, then Drew Pearson simply HAS to go in etc.

It's like a domino effect and Jerry knows this...won't happen.

Yeah, it might be time to create a Cowboy Hall of Fame. With only the greatest going into the ROH.

I thought Staubach earned a player of the year award in 1971 and I know Emmitt had a MVP award in 1993.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

Are you drinking on the job? T.O.'s just lucky he has a position with the Cowboys, and you think he can be in the ROH?

Emmitt was MVP, as you said, and Roger won the Bert Bell award in 1971, but Martin is the only Cowboy to win either offensive or defensive POY.

Most fans will think of Too Tall or Pearson before they think of Harvey, but I'd put Martin ahead of all the rest of the Schramm-era Cowboys who are not in the ring.
