any news on if hes starting? coming in on nickel? or just not playing?

Hello, Newman!

CB Terence Newman's partially torn plantar fascia feels good enough to give it a go. He's active for the first time this season.
Not sure how much time Newman will get in the Phillips 3-4. Wade Phillips mentioned this week that Newman might play only in the nickel and dime packages.
FB Oliver Hoyte (pinched nerve) is on the inactive list. OG Joe Berger takes his place on the active roster. Sixth-round pick Deon "Cricket" Anderson will be the fullback tonight, but the Cowboys will probably opt to work primarily out of two-tight end or three-receiver sets.
Other inactives: CB Evan Oglesby, OLB Greg Ellis, WR Terry Glenn, FS Courtney Brown, OT Doug Free, OT James Marten and WR Isaiah Stanback.

What was the point of drafting Stanback in the 4th round if they don't play him?

He is still learning the WR position.. he came in with little knowledge about the position.. would you really want him come in a blow a route and Romo gets picked off?? this is a timing offense route running is critical

He's got deep speed why not just run him on a post route to keep defenses honest...

The point was adding a player who has the potential to be great someday. That doesn't mean he's better -- or can contribute more -- than Miles Austin right now.

If he was activated just to run a few post routes, you'd have to de-activate someone else who is needed more. Until Stanback passes Miles Austin on the depth chart and/or starts playing more on special teams (kickoff coverage, etc.), he's not going to be active ahead of Austin, who contributes a lot on special teams.

Wade does not handle the roster like Parcells did.
And I do not mind that.
For example....does anyone think Parcells would have let Newman sit for as long as he has?
I don't.

I wonder when Miles Austin gets on the field more...

What difference does it make? He's our No. 4 receiver. Why would you want him on the field instead of Owens, Crayton or Hurd?
