Newman good, Henry remarkable?

Anybody else watch ESPN last night? Around 7 ish they had a " cowboys preview" and it messed up, so then they interviewed a writer, and he was talking corners and said.

"Henry was remarkable, Newman is good..."

Anybody else hear that? Im just making sure I heard it right.

Anthony Henry isn't remarkable but he has good ball instincts. He struggles if he has any sort of injury at all because he is already a step slow anway. He will move to safety very soon because he is already on the verge of being too slow to play corner and his physical makeup seems to be of the type that will lose a step fairly early in his life (unlike a Darryl Green, as an example).

People can belittle statheads or KC Joyner all they want, but it's clear "conventional wisdom" doesn't know what the fark they're talking about when it comes to a non stat driven position like cornerback. The fact that Al Harris could even be mentioned as an elite CB is proof of that.

Henry is good, however, his biggest weakness is he is slow turning his hips and average/low catch up SPEED!

Put him on the T.E.and he will be remarkable.

Henry can cover all over the field except deep. As long as he has help over the top, he can dominate.

With the additional (perceived) strength/depth at the CB position, it does give us a lot of options including moving players around so we get the best matchup possibility no matter who we play. What happens at the safety re Hamlin/Williams & development of Watkins & Brown will also be influenced by the presence of so many CBs. I sure hope that RWilliams regains some of his motivation/confidence to become close to what we all remember; if he can do that, we can live with his pass coverage problems. As for Hamlin, I want him back cause he's the closest we've had to a real FS since Woodson; but not at a price which hinders our ability to retain Ware. Sure hope Watkins or Brown show substantial improvement and/or Henry's use in various packages which have him at safety could become reality in another year.

Henry seems to have the confidence of the staff. I'm not certain how he is going to hang with Newman and Jones this year. If he can then we will have perhaps the best CB trio in the league and the best we've had in a long time.
