Okay, I'm over Detroit. 2-2 is not good, but better than last year.

So, on to New England. Will Newman move into the slot to try to take Welker away from Brady?

Or, will Scandrick be back and playing the slot?

Whoever it is, I think Welker is the key player in that offense.

i say stick Newman on him....o scan or Jenkins on Chad....

O Scan could stick on welker, but i rather have Newman that way..Newman is quicker

I think since Welker will line up in different spots he will see a bit of all 3 CB from time to time. I do agree he is a big key to the Pats offense.

Between the 20's it's Welker.

Near the endzone it's the TE's.

I notice whenever we give newman a big task....it's like he get's pumped up to do it....

and he is the best against speedy, quick WR's

ask Santana or Smith

I agree that Newman seems to do well against the small quick guys. And as many games as Newman missed this year, Scandrick got a lot of reps and will do just fine on the corner.

I think I'd have Newman play Welker whenever it is reasonably possible.

Scandrick might be back, and it seems like he'd match up well with Welker.

Thing with Welker is he seems to take short passes and turn them into big plays. I expect him to make his catches what I don't want to see is the YAC. That is where he does the damage.

They need to figure out something to slow down Welker, he and Brady are on fire and last time we faced them Welker torched us.

Brady is going to go to Gronk or Welker on 3rd down pretty much every time.

That's why newman is the best pick.....

If newman let's you catch it, he's usually right there, and is a pretty sure tackler

Agree with that. Alan Ball just seems like he'd get tied in knots by Welker's quickness.

If Scandrick is back, I see him playing Welker in the slot.

If not, the Cowboys will probably put Alan Ball on him. Why, I have no idea, but they've done it all four weeks and all four weeks our opponents have used the deep out to beat Ball to the sidelines every time. Newman is our best slot man aside from Scandrick.

Newman has made Steve Smith his you-know-what over the years, that is for sure.

I know I'm going into quote overload, but I would have

Jenkins -> Branch
Scandrick/Ball -> Ochocinco
Newman -> Welker

At this stage in his career, any CB on our roster and probably 1/2 our safeties can shut Chad Ochocinco out of a game.

Key is going to be Sensabaugh/Lee vs. Gronkowski and Hernandez.

Let's have Anthony Spencer cover Welker. It worked so well having Greg Ellis cover him a few years ago.

Yes, I'm being facetious.

I think Scandrick will cover Welker.

Scandrick has really improved as a slot DB. I'd prefer that Newman is left on the outside.

Newman or Scandrick is fine.

The key also includes not letting their TE Hernendez go down the seam and have a big play.

The question is, will Scandrick be 100% for the game? How much will he be able to practice over the next two weeks in order to prepare? I don't know.

Nnamdi Asomugha rules....

Only some of the Cowboys' fan base can spend the entire off-season drooling over things that are not the problem on this team. Some at Valley Ranch are just as guilty.

How did Josh Thomas work out? What a stupid pick that turned out to be. They just had to scratch that corner itch...

Denarious Moore would actually be helping this team.

:lmao:

for real....welker would straight up, run away from him

Newman doesn't play the slot anymore because he can barely play the outside. Last game CJ was covered mainly by either Ball or Newman.. and he beat Newman far more than he beat Ball. I think almost all of his catches came on Newman.

Welker scares the heck out of me, he gets a lot of yac yardage, and we can't tackle very well.
