Would you cut Newman to sign Jonathan Joseph?

Everyone assumes we will go after Nnamdi, but he is going to want a boatload of money. If we could get Joseph for what Newman is getting paid or maybe a little less...would you do it??

I would. Newman is getting up there in age while Joseph to me is just as good and is younger.

Joseph is also going to seek a boat load of money. Hes considered a top corner by most. I doubt he leaves Cincy anyways.

But Id be happy with either.

Although the skillset of older corners goes kind of suddenly, I don't think that Terence Newman is there yet. He brings quality speed and experience to the position, as well as leadership.

The thing about cornerbacks, is that foot/ankle and thigh/hamstring injuries rob them of franctions of seconds in reaction and in today's league and speed, that is dangerous.

Joseph 27 vs Newmann 33

(explaining my style - this is just a presented question)

Any idea of completion percentages against Joseph and his yds per pass score? Then there is the metric of vertical completion percentage against a defender.

Joseph is not that good; and he wants big money- this is his BIG contract - next one he will be too old.

Nope but one is in his prime. Havent heard of anymore problems from Joseph since the arrest for pot a few years ago. Guess alot depends on what RR thinks about him.

Some of you "fans" are always looking for other teams players...have you ever asked yourself WHY the cowboys never develop the majority of their draft picks...?

He'd be an improvement, but the cost would be prohibitive.

The perception of his talent is, I think, greater than his actual ability. Hall is significantly better.

The cowboys are between a rock and hard place with Newman, he is getting older, more injury prone and set to make a boat load of money this year. Other teams would pay him some good money, if he hits the market. It would be beneficial to resign Newman, but only if he takes a pay cut. If your gonna pay top dollar for a CB, you might as well go get the best young guy you can.

Unfortunatly Jerry Jones has built a climate of big money payouts in Dallas and thats why I feel everyone wants to play in Dallas. Then again, I dont trust Jenkins enough to go with a unproven CB. So IMO, the Cowboys need to resign Newman and if they cant, go get a proven CB

I believe Jerry said he was TNew to retire a Cowboy and TNew has said that also. I'm expecting to see his deal redone with a couple of years added whenever the NFL season gets underway.
