Not only has steve smith never had a good game against him, dude either gets thrown out or is throwing a tantrum cause he cant get open. Newman does a great job on that guy. As a matter of fact go back 4 years and look at newman agains most premiere receivers. He does his great job.

They rolled Hamlin over the top most of the game. Newman has shut down Smith before, but last night he had tons of help.

Newman is over rated. First two weeks should have shown you that.

Wrong. Smith lit him up in the wildcard game of January 2004 and again in 2007, the last time we faced Carolina before last night.

1 to 2 games where the line was getting no pressure makes him over rated. I agree he had some bad games, but he has had far more good ones. His play last week was not the normal.

PS...who cares if hamlin was helping he sucks.

PSS.. Steve smith beats doubles and help all the time.

2007 seven is when he got ejected wasnt it. He did not light newman up that year.

So basically Newman had no help.
lol, nicely played!

I have to admit I like seeing Smith have a mini melt down on the sidelines. The Cowboys took him out of the game and he was about to pop his lid. I don't think he likes playing us.

I did say ever, but i was going back about 4 years. I think this is the third time I have seen Newman in in Steve Smith.

Smith has never lit up Newman.

Very, very few teams have had success with Newman in general, especially if you take out the 2004 season.

When Smith has had success against Dallas it's been against other corners, particularly Reeves, Henry, and Aaron Glenn.

Yes, Smith had a great wildcard game against Dallas with Newman playing perhaps his worst game of his rookie season that night.

Smith did not light up Newman in 2007. He had 9 catches for 137 yards and 1 TD, which is his only good regular season game he has had against Dallas. Most of that came against Jacques Reeves. Reeves definitely gave up the long TD pass to Smith that night.

That means in the 5 other regular season games that Smith has faced Dallas he has 19 catches, 215 yards and 0 TDs.

Dallas does a very good job of shutting down Steve Smith and Newman has a lot to do with that.
