Does anybody now how many TDs Terrence Newman has allowed since 05', including this year? Same for Marcus Trufant?

That can't be right. He allowed one in 05'. I'm not sure about 06', but it wasn't 0 and Randy Moss got him this year didn't he?

Newman? He allowed like 3 last year, and zero the year before. I dunno how many this year, definitely not a lot. Probably like 0-2.

According to STATS LLC, Trufant allowed 11 touchdowns combined in 2005 (five) and 2006 (six). They had Newman allowing four in those seasons, although they had him allowing one in 2005 when Parcells said he allowed none.

In 2003 and 2004, their first seasons, STATS says Trufant allowed 13 TD catches, compared to eight for Newman (with seven of those coming in 2004).

Yardage-wise, it isn't close, either. Newman averages almost 250 fewer yards allowed per season (537.0) than Trufant (779.3).

I cant believe we had anyone seriously debate this a few years ago...

T-new >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Trufant

and it isnt even close

Trufant wouldnt even start on this team, let alone is he better (or ever been better) than Newman

Just because Jon Kitna is a complete moron and has no idea of how talented Newman is, doesn't mean you can take his words seriously. Last time I checked, nobody even talks about Trufant as a top 5 corner, while everybody is finally taking notice of Newman's ability.

He might start in front of Reeves, but not Henry.

As I mentioned earlier this week:

TNew > Trufant

Nothing I've said since has come close to changing my mind.

He allowed none in 2005. The one he "allowed" was a completely blown cover 2 by Keith Davis against Kansas City. So Newman was forced into trying to play both the over and under zone, when he was supposed to be covering the under zone.

And from what I remember in 06, it was three touchdowns, all after he got his bell rung against Indy. They were thrown to Reggie Wayne, Alge Crumpler, and Mike Williams.

I haven't really been paying attention to it this year since he's injured.
