News: Blisters keeping Terry Glenn from practicing today

I bet Terry and Owens would both play on Sundays if we were in the regular season, and the general public wouldn't even know they were injured.

Here's what concerns me, pursuant to what Dale said.

Why were there no reports about this injury on Sat, the last time the team practiced? if it happened yesterday, it could only have come from lifting (hernia?) or something he was doing outside of the team functions (Keith Davis?), since practice just started.
Well, let's just take what the Pats did recently when Brady wasn't practicing. Teams aren't required to announce injuries in the offseason. You know coaches like Parcells & Belichick aren't going to announce that. It's entirely possible that Glenn has been hurting--maybe he aggravated something in the scrimmage.

But, yes, I'm starting to get very concerned. It's early yet, but we've got two 30+ receivers who are already creaky. Glenn & Bledsoe hooking up during the regular season I'm not so worried about. But TO--that I'm worried about. He's had very little time actually working with Bledsoe. I seem to recall him spending lots of time with McNabb in the first offseason; he's done none of that so far.

I think Jerruh needs to start having a chat with TO, reminding him how much $$$ he's making--& that he's not making it to ride a bike. And Michael spent all last season pimping TO--it's time for him to talk to his buddy as well & remind him that he needs to get his butt on the field.

If he is in pain why is he on the bike? - Paiin is pain - it's being injured.

Denis and Engle said he was clearly showing discomfort from the grimacing on his face.

I think just the fact that they are older, dictates this kind of a course. If they're sore, give them a few days off. They don't need this. They don't need to be out there against a few kids desperate to prove themselves. I'm disappointed they're not able to establish more rythm with the QBs, but not concerned about it.

Maybe he was looking at Engle? Talk about pain...

ESPNews just reported it's because of blisters on both of his feet. We'll find out during the press conference for certain.

If that's true, I just sighed hard enough to cause a typhoon.

I had 5-8 on each foot in basic training and I couldn't go ride the bike.

Depends how many and how big they are. A friend of mine is a cross country runner and he can sometimes run with them and other times he can't move at all with them.

Plus, you have to be a bit careful because if you're not you can get a staph infection from them. And you definitely don't want that.

Either way.

Blisters are better news than tendons, bones, hernias or gunshot wounds.

I would think gunshot wounds could cause some blisters. ;)

You got a lot of nerve endings in the bottom of your feet, and blisters hurt like hell on them!

Also, as some of pointed out, lots of time left before the start of the season...let the vets that have any little things bothering them get healed before things get worse...no big deal...IF it's only blisters...

Terry Glenn's dogs hurt!

Wide receiver Terry Glenn is sitting out practice because of blisters on his feet. Glenn has spent some time on the stationary bike, and he's also getting in some work with a large exercise ball.

Our Pulitzer-prize winning phtographer, Irwin Thompson, is all over this, so look for pictures soon.

T.O. (left hamstring) has spent most of the morning on an exercise bike next to defensive end Marcus Spears (right knee).

Regarding safety Justin Beriault (concussion), I had a long discussion with him the other day. He still doesn't remember anything that happened in the days leading up to his major concussion. He took a shot to the chin early in a practice, and probably should've left the field at that point.

Later, someone accidentally rammed his knee into Beriault's head.

This is Beriault's fifth concussion. I talked to longtime team doctor, J.R. Zamorano about concussions the other day. He told Beriault the story of the time former quarterback Troy Aikman was so out of it from a concussion that he told doctors the Super Bowl would be played in Henryetta, Okla.

The enterprising folks in Henryetta responded by selling tickets to a fictitional Super Bowl. If memory serves correct, they made about $5,000 off those tickets.

Much, much more to come, including my take on the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut.

I agree. Glenn and TO are not trying to make the team like others in the WR group are. There is still a lot of time for TO and Glenn to get their work in before the start of the season

I don't think an NFL career is in the cards for Bariault.

i was thinking that as well, 5 concussions already...thats quite a bit of trauma already for someone his age.

I was told once that after your 3rd concussion your brain loses approximately 40% of it comprehension ability. And since concussions are more likely to occur once you start getting them, it doesn't look good.
