I went out to Cowboys OTA at Valley Ranch. Indy Car driver and Dancing With The Stars contestant, Helio Castroneves got to practice with Cowboys QB Tony Romo and corner Terence Newman.

John Sturbin of the Star-Telegram covers racing. He came out to cover the event and wore a New York Giants baseball cap. That is a huge unwritten no no in the media.

Cowboys All Pro TE, Jason Witten, shouted out two different times about Sturbin’s Giants hat. Of course the G-Men put the Cowboys out of the playoffs en route to winning the Super Bowl last year.

He thought it was disrespectful for Sturbin to wear it.

Never wear a cap with a logo of the sport you are covering.

I wouldn’t show up at Texas Motor Speedway with my Tony Stewart cap. I could wear a Cowboys cap and the drivers wouldn’t care. But I’ll tell ya, Joe Gibbs would. I found that out in 1993 covering a test session in Darlington. Gibbs didn’t care for the Cowboys jacket I was wearing on a cold winter day.

SI football columnist Jim Trotter got an earful from Jim Harbaugh for wearing Niners gear during a interview session when he was the beat reporter for the Chargers.

Should Jason Witten be upset? Leave a comment.

God I love witten.

I wish there was video of him yelling!!!

The guy comes out to a Cowboys practice wearing a Giants cap..... yeah I'd say he deserved it.

My question is... why is Witten the only player to have a problem with it... that hat should have been ripped off that guys head and shoved up his ***.

This is speculation on my part, but the article says this.

Helio Castroneves got to practice with Cowboys QB Tony Romo and corner Terence Newman.

John Sturbin of the Star-Telegram covers racing. He came out to cover the event and wore a New York Giants baseball cap. That is a huge unwritten no no in the media.
So maybe the other players weren't around when he was there to cover the practice session with Newman and Romo? Again.... just a thought, or maybe Witten was just the first person to spot it?

It's about time this team started to develop a bit of an attitude. I really think we lacked a killer instinct last year and coasted when we should have been stepping on other team's throats.

I would have loved to have seen Haley in a situation like that.
He wizzed on Siefert's car....I think Haley would be the perfect Cowboy player to handle a situation like this.

Haley would just be getting out on bail, right about now... and no, I'm not really joking.

That reporter has to be a real jerk. Yes, we are free to wear whatever we want, but think before you dress.

I believe Witten should have removed the cap from his head, wiped his *** with it and then returned it to the reporters head. :laugh2:

hope this is the start of a mean *** attitude on this team.

Im so sick of this Giants love crap. i can not wait to kick their rears.im sick of Giants.

I agree, but countdown to those who say the Giants won so they deserve it, blah, blah, blah.....10...9...8...7...

A: Sturdin is clueless.

B: Sturdin is a fashion spaz who thinks clothes represent nothing, but... well... clothes.

C: Sturdin knew exactly what the hell he was wearing on top of his head and thought he could get away with it.

You decide.

damn i was hoping it was jfe i was going to find wittens email and thank him and send him a case of beer.

I don't blame Witten for going off. The idiot writer knew where he was going, and should not have worn that crappy hat.:star:

What kind of idiot reporter would do this kind of crap anyway? How in the heck do you not use common sense and know not to do this?

i don't mind it. maybe if they took care of business at home it wouldn't matter if he was wearing that ugly hat.
