What To Watch In the Cowboys-Broncos Game
Published August 15, 2008 Cowboys , NFL , Tony Romo 0 Comments
OK, preseason isn’t really football, but they have to play it anyway.
This is what I will be looking for when I watch the Cowboys-Broncos game Saturday, IF, it is not a wet, sloppy field in Denver.
If it is, I wouldn’t look for T.O., Tony Romo, Marion Barber, DeMarcus Ware, or Jason Witten to play much. You simply can’t lose your veterans on a wet and mudding field.
If the field is just a little wet, I want to see the first team offense go at least a quarter. I want to see them mix it up. Same goes for the defense.
I will be watching the special teams coverage like a hawk. It was terrible last week in San Diego.
Players to watch:
TE Martellus Bennett. He looked like a fool on the TV reality show Hard Knocks.
WR Patrick Crayton. I just want to know he’s over the Giants playoff loss.
DE Marcus Spears. He’s got talent, I won’t call him a bust yet.
LB Bobby Carpenter. WIth Kevin Burnett out with knee surgery, this is his time to shine.
S Roy Williams. Is #38 better than #31?
CB Mike Jenkins. He played fine last week. Can he be consistent.
WR Danny Amendola. Muffed a punt last week. He needs a good game to show he’s not a camp guy only.
QB Tony Romo. You always want to see the starting QB play well.
CB Adam Jones. Time for Pacman to make some tackles and stop whiffing on them.
CB Even Oglesby. Needs to shine to secure a roster spot.
