Next weeks whirlwind 53 cutdown and waiver claim

Dear esteemed members--- Next weeks cut down to 53 and waiver claim will be a whirlwind of movement.I know we have a good idea for most of our players but do to injury and suspension and UDFA play and waiver claim it will be an exciting saturday next week...will Noah Brown make it?...we are pretty sure Cooper Rush played his way on the 53...but what about our linebacker crew?...and O line..will we find a sub on waiver wire?..and our db's...will the injury to #26 make a place for White?...and can our drafted db's get up to speed to help out our anemic backend that got torched last night?....will udfa Neal make the 53 with his good play?...we are pretty sure we will keep 4 tight ends with the play of Rico..GORICO...but will injuries and suspensions force our hand to let go of players we would have kept?

There's going to be a lot of difficult cuts to make. This is one of our deepest preseason rosters I can remember. To me, guys like Lance Lenoir, Lenny Jones, Ronnie Hillman, even Ross Burbank are going to be tough to let go.

I may be in the minority here, but I think Lenoir is going to be very good for somebody. He's like a young, raw version of Pierre Garcon- not all that big and not all that fast, but he finds a way to make plays.

Yup, I really like Noah Brown too. He has Dez-like physical skills. All he needs is a couple years to learn the pro game and he can be a starter.

He barely played. The last two games he has gotten a series and then pulled after playing halves the first two. I'm certain they are hiding him to get him on the PS. That may change with injuries that have occurred.

Suspensions and injuries could open the door for some bottom roster guys, at least temporarily. Broaddus is talking like Rico might end up on IR at this point. Hitchens could go IR for half the season, potentially. There's two extra spots right there.

Suspensions actually make create extra roster spots on cut day. They normally carry 10 to 11 DL but only have 8 active on game day. They don't really have to replace Moore/Irving while they're out.

Injuries are a problem. To be eligible for IR-return status, players have to be on the 53 on cut day.

I thought Hanna might be a surprise cut because he is similar to Swaim but makes about 5x as much; however, now Rico may be out for an extended period of time.

Hopefully Switzer gets healthy soon; otherwise they might have to burn a roster spot on a punt returner.

Dumping QB Moore would make things easier but the Cowboys are conservative in these situations.

OL Cooper and Green have been injured often. They may keep 1 more OL than they might otherwise for this reason.

There is no chance a fourth rounder gets cut because of an injured hamstring. "Can't make the club from the tub" applies to late rounders, old vets, and UDFAs. They raved about him before the injury. They'll wait for him to heal.

5 is basically the standard minimum in the NFL.

Yep, and I think the reason you only keep 5 is because you don't have a 6th worth keeping. That isn't the case this year.
