Tell me how the QB draft pool will be next season (after Dak's upcoming and final injury which will see him retire into the sunset with a boatload of cash) as with our top 5 pick we are drafting a QB for sure for sure.....
The rest of the roster will fall in place around our new rookie QB.
We’re lucky if we picked top 15

The next 5 years are rebuilding years.
Probably accurate.

Although NFL GMs generally get better at roster building as they approach the age of 90, so there’s that.

This is akin to a bad flu that’s going to have to run its course. Meanwhile your doctor is trying to tell you that you aren’t sick at all.

With who we have lost and so many young players we will be counting on to step up, there simply will not be enough talent to seriously contend.

we could get lucky and make it into the playoffs but we would be one and done again

Overshown and Diggs are going to be gone next year; and might never make it back to what they were

Martin was going downhill and will be gone

On the O line we have to hope our young players step up and get better but that is going to take more than one season

The holes are numerous: we will need two DL, and probably at least one Quality O line since Steele seems like he will never be back to what he was
Rico has looked good; but can we count on him to be a bell cow? unlikely so we need a RB
WR after Lamb is meh at best; so we need at least one quality WR

LB we do not know how much Kendricks has left in the tank and Overshown is gone for next season and possibly for good. Marist is flashing but that is pretty much it. so we need TWO LBs

We need to upgrade our Safeties and the need at CB is obvious so we need at least one of each.

That is NINE upgrades at least and you will not get that in one season.

and this is predicated on a number of our young players, especially on the O line, stepping up big time
I don’t give a snap, next year we need to tank for Manning. Trade Parsons to get a high 1st pick, and my enthusiasm will reappear.

I will never understand the raging narcissists here who act like they know how next season will or will not play out.

We are not building anything
We are a shiny dead in the water franchise when it comes to competing for a SB

Key positions to succeed in NFL

GM
HC
QB

We are 0-3

Key positions on a team to compete for a SB

QB
LT
Elite DL player
Great MLB
Great safety

We are 0-5

And please dont show your football ignorance by saying “but but but CB and WR are more important than MLB and safety” or “Parsons is an elite DE”

Why? You didn't like our 7-10 All-In season.

Teams rebuild when they cut a slew of veteran players at key positions due to age or declining performance or what have you.

The Cowboys just signed a bunch of veteran players to longterm deals with more upcoming. They couldn’t cut them if they wanted to.

What exactly are they rebuilding?

We may suck but they are not rebuilding. Jerry doesn’t even believe in it.

While I will say I don’t think team is near a superbowl team or a true contender with its holes, I don’t see diggs being out as a true reason for that. He wasn’t very good this year and his lack of willingness to tackle hurt us immensely.

Lots issues to work on but I don’t think it’s essentially a rebuild year. I also don’t have trust in the front office to be aggressive or shrewd enough to address its issues. Next year, I with relative health we are probably in the 9-11 win range- middle ground territory.

A rebuild would he a true direction, the franchise has chosen to straddle the fence
