Pretty safe to say that Camp Cupcake produced Team Cupcake. Injured all the damn time, poor fundamentals, getting worn out late in games, stupid turnovers, stupid penalties, etc.

No more extra days off. More time spent on fundamentals and special teams. Extra laps need to be run, more push ups, more gassers, you name it.

These players also failed under the alternative (Parcells). Is there an in-between? Would it even matter (I'm sure the players will try to make us believe this offseason that it would).

I'm not sure anymore.

But yes, Phillips' approach is ridiculous. He's a good defensive coordinator and nothing else. Pretty easy to see why the man has never won a flippin' playoff game.

we had camp cupcake last season...how many injuries did we have then?

yet you say they will be worn out from the extra days off...yet demand we do more stuff which would create more fatigue going into the game.

The coaches had nothing to do with giving up 2 carries for 159 yards and making two average players heroes.

Camp Cupcake isn't going to fly. The Cowboys started the season 3-0 coming out of "camp cupcake". I think the team was a little over confident this year, but the Rams knocked it out of them for good.

They lost tonight based on execution, not coaching.

There will be changes, but Phillips and Garrett are not going anywhere. You can pretty much book it.

Hire Cowher to bring back the toughness and fundamentals to this weak team and retain Wade as the DC which is what he does best! If he has to much "pride" to accept the demotion then just fire him and let Cowher get one of his guys to be DC!

In an 18 year career, Bill Cowher went to 2 Super Bowls losing 1 and winning 1 (and that was a gift IMHO). The only really consistent SB winning coach this past decade is you-know-who in NE. He loses his starting QB, replaces him w/ a guy that never started in college nor the NFL, yet is contending for a PO spot. Unbelievable.

I'd say if Phillips has to go (and he probably should) replace him w/ Holmgren (went to SBs w/ 2 different teams) or the DC from the Ravens.

I'd also like to see this team go back to Midwestern State or what ever that was in Witcha Falls for camp. Lets find 53 guys and coaches that can do two-a-days in that heat and humidity and build the toughness to finish the season. This is not a tough team; and I don't think they are well-prepared. All this "walking-through" in A/C comfort or the idyllic CA weather will not build character enough to keep on going when the going gets tough.

Jerry made closing the stadium more important than getting into the POs. He should remember a legacy that includes being the 1st team to lose to a new franchise on opening day (also being beat by a rookie QB David Carr), losing to 2 rookie QBs at home (Roethlisberger and Flacco) giving up 2 first round picks for a WR that never produced nearly that much worth for the franchise, and a myriad of other poor decisions that would take all night to list. True, Jerry (and Jimmy) had some good years between '91 and '96, maybe even '91 to 2000, but from there on it's been a lot more losing than winning....
