Next year's draft

I know it's early, but what do you look for in next years draft?

I say we get CB if there is a shutdown corner available, otherwise the best OG or center in the first, maybe an OLB opposite Ware in the second. Really, any combination of these, IMHO.

Need to draft a mean dawg for this team. D. Ware is a great player but we need a mean dawg. Team is soft.

My main priority would be pass rusher or a dominate nose tackle. i dont follow college football at all are there any big names at those positions?

Guard/center, LB, safety, DE, NT, or CB. Other than CB, I think quality players at these other positions can be found outside the 1st round.

I agree with best OLB/DE and CB as being top priorities.

We also need, but not necessarily at the top:

ILB (Brooking and James need to be replaced or used sparingly). Carter is still raw.
Safety (probably should replace one of Sensi/Elam)

Number one priority is cb then you have to look at nose tackle and outside linebacker.

I would like to see a new guy on the D line, at outside LB for pass rushing amd 2 new guys in the secondary---hard to do in one draft.

#7 ILB (this is assuming carter pans out)

Best available player at any non-offensive-skill-position. Early and often.

Okay, add WR to the list if we can't keep Robinson (but not early). And probably not an OT early. And maybe a QB mid- or late-draft, if the right guy falls to us. Those are the only real caveats.

I really don't think CB is going to be a first-round priority. The Cowboys are committed to Scandrick and Jenkins, so all they will be looking for is a third corner with Newman likely being cut.

I think interior offensive line should be up there, along with an outside linebacker to book end with Ware and a defensive end who's good enough to draw double-teams, get some pressure and take some of the pressure off Ware and Ratliff.

We've really only got three major players in the front seven: Ware, Ratliff and Lee, so we need more help there. (Hopefully, Bruce Carter can come on like Lee did to give us a strong pair of ILBs.)

hips are way to stiff play man in the NFL, looks great for a zone system or tampa 2.

nope I disagree, did you see how bad Scandrick was when replacing Jenkins on the outside. Scandrick is a slot CB and thats all he is.
They had Ball out there playing after Scandrick got owned a few times.
CB is a big need. One in the draft and a VEt via FA.

I like htis Idea. We need a DL that can move the trenches.
Look at the best 3-4 DLs, their DEs can get pressure on the QBs.
Arizona, Blatimore, SF, and Houston.

Pure BPA. There are enough holes on this team that pretty much anyone can contribute, and it's not like we can afford to take a big chance and whiff on a first rounder.
