NFC championship game 1992

I'm watching it right now. I love this version with all the radio clips and a few interviews thrown in. So much fun to hear the radio guys talk about a young Kevin Smith ... a backup safety named Woodson ... Johnston with the one handed fumble recovery.

It fun to think back to that game and now knowing at the time how good the Cowboys would be and how good some of these kids would eventually be.

It's pretty sad that as Cowboy fans we have to dust off tape from 20 years ago to remind us of what it feels like to be a relevant championship caliber team.

I guess that's our reward for having an "uncluttered" decision making process in the front office.

Actually, we don't have to go back 20 years. We only have to go back 19 years or 17 years to do the same.

But, yeah ... your point is correct.

Naw, we just have to go back to '09 or '07 for that. We have to go back 17 years to see a team that actually won a championship, but there's a half-dozen or so teams in any year that are championship "caliber" and obviously not all of them can win it.

This needs to be said again.

Ah. I was in like 6th grade. I remember it, but barely...and football didn't mean NEAR as much to me then as it does now.

I need to figure out how to convert from VCR, which was recorded digitally,, or at least downloaded digitally on the first DTV system at that time. Have most of the 90 - 96 seasons, ie.. the classic muddy Candlestick Championship.

Any tips on converting those directly to a media source?

I do too. I taped over Cowboy losses, but I have most of the Cowboys victories. During the Super Bowl 27, I accidently taped over the half-time show and most of the third quarter. Apparently, I had been watching the Super Bowl later and my automatic recorder came on and taped the last episode of "Rock." I hate that because the Michael Jackson half-time show was about the only half-time show I've paid attention to since.

I need to convert my video to DVD also.

watched it for 5 minutes then turned it off.

why is it so damn difficult for jerry to get players with heart like that again? :(

Salary cap and vikings trade. NFL has changed.

In fact you can easily see how Jerry changed the NFL. Owners knew they couldn't compete with Jerry's pockets. Owners also knew that no team could ever allow a Minnesota/Dallas trade to happen again.

People want to Hang Jerry for the last "16" years but most never give him the credit he deserves. Mostly because they are too young to remember and appreciate.

Jerry Jones saved this franchise. You guys think the it's tough now? Please. The 80's were worse. By far! Our greatest Cowboy of all time was a fading star and we had to watch it. The greatest legend in the history of our history even to this day had was on NFL life support. No not Roger, Randy white or even Dorsett. I'm talking about our Leader our face to our Franchise Tom Landry. It was like watching your father get ill, praying he would have a miraculous recovery but knowing in the back of your mind had won his last battle long long ago. It was watching superman get beat up, disrespected and buried all without a chance of getting his revenge.

What made it worse? The Commanders and Giants. Watching your most hated rivals win 6 NFC championships and 5 superbowls in the 80's and early 90's was way worse that what Any stretch our franchise has ever seen.

Sorry for the rant but it pains me to constantly hear cowboy fans bash Jerry Jones. Not because he doesn't deserve criticism. I know he does. But what really gets me is the fans that think it's just so easy to do. You know like "why doesn't Jerry just do this".

If it was that easy bro, 32 teams would have lombardi's by now. Winning now is more complex and harder than it has ever ever been.

I just wish people would give Jerry more respect. Thats all. Atleast give him some. When he bought this team I love we were at the lowest of lows this franchise had ever seen.

Don't let the talk about our current struggles overshadow our past struggles. Our star was had no shine and was beginning to burn out. We went from royalty to ragity and it stunk.

You want a true assesment of cowboy leading up to Jerry Jones? Think of the Miami Dolphins and then subtract the Cleveland Browns. Now Take that team and put them in a division that has both the New England Patriots (80's to early 90's Commanders) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (mid 80's to early 90's Giants). Now add another powerhouse to that mix. Let's say the Eagles but not the mike Vick eagles, the Donovan mcNabb eagles (eagles of mid 80's to early 90's). Now To finish it off (5 team nfc east back then) throw in houston texans (ST Louis/Arizona Cardnials).

That was life as a cowboy fan for about 10 years. And to make it even worse take the only player that's left on our roster that gets you any respect around the league as being decent and send him packing in a trade.

So basically our franchise spent 10 years on death row and Jerry Jones not only got us off death row but also got us released from jail and then got us a phat job at Microsoft as a billionaire CEO.

Jerry has his challenges. We all know that. But you people gotta show some respect around here.

I want more just like everyone else. I expect some RINGS in the near future. But I also respect our owner for having the balls to do what he has done and I'll never forget that nor disrespect him as many fans have.

Believe it or not there was a time when people questioned Landry quite a bit as well. He was talked about the same way Garrett is now. Way over his head, schemes to comes for players, etc. People also questioned his ability to win without staubach. Same with Jerry not being able to win without "jimmy's players".

All in all Jerry has his place in cowboy history and it's far far from being a closed book. He does deserve more respect than some here show and it pains me as a Cowboy fan to see other Cowboy fans just disregard his contributions and talk abOut the man as if he's some piece of trash, drunk idiot who has ruined our franchise.

I guess I just want posters who constantly bash the man to pay more respect because our Star might have been a Jaguar or Ram or Panther if Jerry Jones hadn't come along.

We have a winner!

notice how the players hug each other after someone makes a quality play. the teammates truely loved each other back then. i don't see that type of affection/chemistry from today's losers.

Well it's there. Guys flying all all over the place doing chest bumps and shoulder bumps.

You comPlain so much it really makes me wonder, Why are you a fan? You've made it well known you hate our owner, the GM, the new stadium and the players. What exactly is left for you to enjoy?

Why call yourself a fan when you hate so much?

I'm seriously wanting to know. Go back and read your post history bro. We've got skin fans on here who appreciate this team more than you.
