How do you rank it?

1-Philly- Trent Cole scares me. There was one play on Sunday where someone(Wimbley?) went around Flo untouched, but I believe the sack was called back. But I think if we run right at him, we should be ok. That, and some draws to slow him down.

2- Carolina- Im not afraid of Peppers anymore, but weve got to watch the bomb to Steve Smith. 2 Good RB's, but we should be able to contain them. Weve got a potentially top 10 run D in the making.

3- NJ- They are not as talented, even they know that, but that playoff loss lingers until we have a chance for revenge. Tuck is a big factor, but w/ Osi out we should be able to chip him non stop. I still dont see anyone that can stop Witten or TO on this team.

4-NO- They have speed, and could get that long TD. Good WR's and a solid TE but no secondary. I dont think they can stop us from getting 7, where they may be getting 3's.

5- GB- Good secondary, they should be able to contain Crayton, Austin, ect. But they would have a tough time w/ TO. Harris got abused by Burress in the playoffs, and TO is a full level better. On the other side, if we stop Jennings I think well be fine.

And thats it.
Can you imagine Tavaris Jackson trying to throw against Newman, Henry, Pac, Jenkins, Scandrick, and Hamlin? TO would eat up this secondary as well.
Seattle is slow, they might have to start rebuilding soon.
TB couldnt stop us.
And then theres the Falcons, Skins, Bears, Lions and the NFC West who we can officially write off.

It's week 1. I dont know yet. I expect the Eagles and Saints to be sure contenders, but GB, Carolina, Minny and the Giants could all either be major players or major nothings.

1 sack in 2 games VS us last year I'm not worried.

I think it would be the way Cleveland went

We should be able to take them same way we did last year

GB opened @ home against T Jackson. Of course their secondary looked good.

Don't look past Chicago and Carolina just b/c of recent history. Winning on the road at SD and at Indy is not easy. Well, SD does have Turner. But Chicago's win over Indy was a quality win. Albeit Peyton was rusty.

First off, are you *****' kidding me? We should never be concerned with a Orton-led Bears team! They have no receivers either! You should be ashamed of yourself for giving them even an ounce of thought.

Oh, and the guy who is afraid of Trent Cole should be ashamed too. You obviously did not see the iso of Cole and Flozell that Madden was discussing in last year's game. Watching Trent Cole attempt to pass rush around Flozell was humorous. He looked like a little boy and he's lucky the Hotel didn't bury him like the pretty little flower he is.

Carolina deserves some attention because they've got playmakers like Steve Smith, Julius Peppers and Deangelo Williams and a competent QB. And New Orleans, they have some skills too.

But I'm really looking forward to this game on Monday night -- the Eagles rang up about a billion points against the Rams last year too, don't you remember? We are going to lay a serious hurting on them this week.

The only competition the Dallas Cowboys have this year is themselves.

Like we've been saying, no more excuses. Philly won't beat us unless we beat ourselves. On the other side however, we could absolutely thrash them by 3 scores - but they could never do the same to us.

I'd watch out for Chicago. They pretty much owned the Colts and if they can run the ball a little and Orton can manage the game, this is a tough team because they do play good defense, force turnovers, and get great field position with Hester on returns.

I think NO can be pretty effective this year.

Payton is a good coach and he is also innovative on offense.

NO has good WRs, a good TE, very good QB, and solid group of RBs (assuming Deuce is healthy).

It's still hard to judge their defense, esp their secondary, because I think Tampa Bay's WRs are generally poor as a collective group (NO's first game of the season).

Yep. It appears I've underestimated the Bears. They will a problem unless you can get up early on them. Any team that can run and play defense and STs can be a problem.

Carolina, GB, and the Vikings could be in the hunt. I understand why Jackson gets little respect but he played reasonably well even though his team was behind. They should have opened the playbook sooner and they might have beat GB.
