There is a good thread (for once) at ES, its called the NFC East honesty thread. The rules are simple. Post one good thing about the 3 other NFC East teams, and one thing that worrys you about your team.

I'll Start.

Eagles. McNabb looks very healthy, and the addition of DeSean Jackson looks solid. I think they will be as competitive as anyone in the East.

Giants. A few days ago I would have said thier pass rush frightens the hell out of me, but with the loss of Osi, I'm not as concerned. But what I am a little concerned about is Eli. Has he really turned a corner? And if so, he's got solid recievers to throw too.

Skins. I don't care how insanely bad this team is, when they play the cowboys, they get up for it. The only thing it could be compared to for them and their fans is a college atmosphere. Ohio State Michigan, Florida Georgia, Texas OU. That team plays on sheer emotion every time we play them, no matter how much better we are than them, their fans seem to will them to compete hard.

Cowboys. I worry that if we don't have some playoff success this year, the "can't win in december thing" might actually start to sink into the psyche's of the players.

this probably should have went into the NFL zone, but I'm feeling awfully rebellious today, and I think a little later I'm going to run through the house with scissors just to see what happens.

Your turn !!!

You took all the good ones! :laugh2: Seriously, nice list.

Not sure I could add anything to our opponents -- McNabb is the main thing for the Eagles. Maybe they're defensive back depth, that's really good too. Enough to be concerned about? Not sure.

For the Giants, it is their receiving corp (combined with Eli). I think they have enough top-to-bottom WR talent to even give deep secondaries like ours some fits.

Commanders? I'm just not sure. They have a decent O-line and running back depth, I guess.

As far as we go, just the dreaded season-ending injury to one of the following: Romo, Owens, Witten, MBIII. We could not survive any one of those IMO, at least not to a SB berth.

The Eagles will do nothing. Jackson is too small to be a receiver, their front seven blows, and their offensive line will be healthy until Week 3.

McNabb and Westbrook healthy is a problem for any team...Mcnabb did for three years with lesser recievers than R. Brown and D. jackson. (Todd Pinkston lol!)

The Giants have confidence, which I feel is the only thing they have above us at the moment.

The Skins..lol.. wel after their preformance Saturday I doub't we will see a repeat of play that poor (thats something good right??) And yes, they always play us very competitively.

The only thing that worries me about our team is ourselves.. the only games we lose are when we play down to our opponents or shoot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and penalties. Ill just be mean and throw B. Carpenter out as my only worry.

You really got the idea...

I see the Gints, Weables and Pokes very even with injuries and momentum determening the winner (Hopefully not coaching since I like both Reid and Coughlin better than SOB)
Wash I have NO idea it seems to be a completely new team (HC, OC & DC).

I would participate, but after watching the Carolina game, I can't think of anything positive to say about the Commanders. Maybe, it can be said that Jason Campbell is not a complete doofus, but I think there are too many factors available that contradict that claim. Maybe that Jim Zorn is a really good offensive mind, but see Jason Campbell comments to refute that.

I would love the see what the Skins' fans are saying about the Cowboys. I would cruise on over, but after this weeks game, I am afraid I will find a Jonestown like mass suicide.

Eagles: Always draft well so they have great depth, and have excellent coaches with the same systems in place for years.

Giants: The light went on for Eli, his confidence is up, and he gets even better. Very solid coaching.

Skins: Not much, honestly... Maybe that Campbell breaks through. Don't think they'll be that good a team, but they always get up to play us.

Us: Lack of O-line and ILB depth hurts us. Bradie in coverage scares the bejeezus out of me.

Eagles- KR is scaring me with the way our kick coverage has been I am nervous kicking to them.

Commanders- I think they need to start Colt Brennan until they do they will stay at the bottom of the division. They have 2 very young very talented WR who presence will be felt once they come back from injury.

Giants- Looked really good against the browns. w.o. the pass rush they will fall behind the eagles now. I find it hard to believe that they will make the playoffs .500 or worse for them. I have zero faith Eli is going to be good enough to carry them with out his security blanket Shockey.

Cowboys- Kick coverage and these injuries are starting to pile up.

Eagles: The Eagles do a good job of cutting bait on older players, push the salary to the following year, etc. This had allowed them to remain competetive for some time. They might have been even better had they invested in WRs though.

Giants: They do a good job dealing with distractions, whether with Tiki, Shockey, Strahan, etc.

Commanders: Despite an owner that runs his franchise using Madden, they still find ways to win. Look at that roster from top to bottom and tell me they are a playoff team.

Cowboys: Will this team ever put teams away? Whether playing soft 30 seconds before halftime or blowing huge leads, it seems like this team is content to score and then play safe rather than putting their foot on the other teams throat.

Eagles: McNabb healthy and scrambling/rolling out, Westbrook as always, defensive blitz schemes

Giants: Eli doesn't cringe and fall down like he used to, young slot receivers if they stay healthy(Steve Smith, Moss), Spagnuolo gameplanning and timely changeups of looks

Commanders: Great depth at RB(can run inside or outside), Cooley, Santana Moss can score in a hurry

Cowboys: Can they cover the TE and get to the QB on blitzes?

Good thread.

Giants. What if Eli finally did get it? He has already led his team to the playoffs every season and now has won a Super Bowl.

Eagles. I never count them out as long as Andy Reid and Jim Johnson are still around. Injuries and other crap derails them. They always bounce back. Since 2000 they are easily our worst nightmare in the NFL.

Commanders. They drafted their bookend WRs for the future and we're still searching for ours.

Cowboys. It remains the kickoff and punt coverage teams that worry me the most. I'm nearing the point where I want every punt and kickoff to sail out of bounds. McBriar can pin them deep that way and starting at the 40 is better than across midfield and our freaking kicker making TD saving tackles.

Eagles - Westbrook ALWAYS worries me and it appeared by the end of last year that McNabb was starting to get back toward form. They will push people harder than most people.

Giants - I do believe that Eli is going to play with a lot more confidence this year and that will make them tough, as always, but I absolutely agree that with the loss of Osi, not to mention 4 other starters from last years defense, that there is no way that unit will be as good.

Commanders - They're going to be better. They're not going to be as good as their first two preseason games indicated but they're not going to be nearly as bad as this last one might make people think as well. They're going to be a much improved team that is going to play us hard like always.

Cowboys- What worries me about our team is obviously our special teams coverage units. That's really the only major concern I have other than how the young recievers will step up in the early season and help pick up the slack for the loss of depth there.

Why do we have to play nice? Its not our fault the Commanders suck. At least they will have a nice shiny top 10 pick to waste next year!

The Giants may have started a trend w/ this emphasis on pass rushing

Eagles have the best player in the division and a great coaching staff.

Im scared of over confidence, sloppiness, and penalties.

Eagles: Westbrook may be the best non-QB offensive player in the league when healthy. I think he's better than Faulk in his prime, he just hasn't had the weapons around him like those Rams teams. He scares me on every screen pass.

Giants: Their defense is very well coached. The loss of Osi hurts, but I still think they find a way to put pressure on QBs and force turnovers.

Commanders: Cooley is one of the most underrated TEs in the league (by anybody other than Commanders fans). If one of their rookie receivers pans out, and their offensive line stays healthy, they could have a very potent and versatile offense.

Cowboys: Coverage units. Enough said.

Eagles: Only other NFC East team to finish in the top 10 in total offense and defense. And that was in a down year. McNabb healthy, Westbrook, that defense and a solid draft makes them better than an 8-8 team.

Giants: That aggressive defense that Spags calls wreaks havoc just like his mentor Jim Johnson's Eagles defense does. Eli and Plax are a good combo.

Commanders: Playoff team a season ago. With Portis, Cooley, S. Moss, Chris Samuels on offense; Jayson Taylor, Springs, London Fletcher and Laron Landry on defense, there is enough talent to make a wildcard playoff push again. As long as they can adjust to and pick-up the new offensive system.

Cowboys: WR depth bothered me before Austin and Stanback went down and it bothers me even more now. T.O. staying healthy for a full season is not a guarantee (he's been injured 3 of the last 4 seasons).

this a little different, but its also a version of all honesty:

1) Best QB- Romo
2) Best WR- Owens
3) Best TE- Witten
4) Best LT- Adams
5) Best center- Gurode
6) Best pass rusher(whether its OLB or DE)- Ware
7) Best group of CB's- Cowboys

I think a strong argument could be made for Davis being the best Guard.
You can also make a strong argument that Folk is the best kicker.

It would be difficult for anyone to argue with me and make me belive that any of numbers 1-7 above are not true

With that said, its all the more reason why there's little excuse for this team not to advance far into the playoffs

Philly: I travel here on business sometimes and always worry that I'll say "Ma'am" to someone who's really just an effeminate fat guy with a pencil thin moustache and a mullett...

Giants: I worry each day that one of the dozen or so transplanted idiots at my work, who rarely wanted to talk football until week 15 last season, will once again walk into my office and yell "David Tyree is the next Phil McCwonkee! G-Men, baby!"

Commanders: What if the acidic, roiling hatred that I feel down in my gut everytime this team is seen or mentioned is actually a chronic medical condition that I have left untreated all these years.

Cowboys: How many games are our Special Teams going to cost us? Can we win a playoff game when the opponent starts every drive at the 35-yard-line or better? I admit it, I don't understand: how, exactly, do you fix Special Teams?

Eagles--Jackson at Wr seems to have potential and at PR really scares me the way we have been covering punts.

Giants--Eli seems to have confidence and lots of weapons......they might just be for real.

Commanders--I am not impressed and will disappointed if we do not sweep this bunch.

Cowboys--ST coverage skills and players who have experience on ST are few and far in between.
