nothing to do with panicking. you don't give a fringe player leeway to make ******* mistakes like that. obviously his upside wasn't enough to overlook the fact that he made a very costly mistake. send the rest of your fringe guys a message.

I don't know that is panicking so much as it is cutting one's losses quite literally, when Jimmy Johnson bid farewell to Curvin Richards and signed Emmitt a no name back up off of wavers right before playoffs it was not in a panic but a concern.

Derek Gainer was Emmitt's backup in the 1992 playoffs and Super Bowl, a trivial piece of history in a sports knowledge contest for you.

Dallas fans have been spoiled by good return men as well, they are not easy to come by but since 1986 Dallas had one of or a variation of the following:
Kelvin Martin
Kevin Williams
Herschel Walker
Deion Sanders
Chris Tucker
Wane McGarity
Woody Danztler
Zuriel Smith
Tyson Thompson
Miles Austin
Terence Newman

That is a pretty solid group, some of them were starters and all were playmakers on special teams.

They were expecting Jeremy Bloom to be their star KR-apparently, a toe injury in preseason slowed him down, but there had to be ALOT more to that. You just don't cut a guy b/c of some injury not major.
