Westbrook goes down and the Eagles go with him.

They have no depth. There is no replacing him on that team.

With out a doubt, Westbrook IS the Eagles offense. But what team has depth behind their starter? Betts is about the biggest threat of the backups and he stinks. He is nothing but a Hambrick. Most teams will hurt when their star runningback goes down.

I think this is true for teams with a "star" running back which there are fewer of today. Most teams deploy a multiple back set these days and can better absorb one of the backs going down -- still a hit, but might not cripple the team.

The eagles traded for Luke Lawton RB (fullback?) early this month to add depth to running back. Maybe they are trying to take some pressure off McNabb by running more this season.
