If you find yourself in these final weeks of the season tiring of highly touted NFC East matchups between average-to-mediocre sides, welp, too bad. The East is a three-team race entering Week 14, with Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington separated by one game; the Giants are on life support at 4-8, but one more loss and they're through. The Acela corridor is still where it's at.

The course of the division could very well be decided this Sunday. In the most important intra-divisional game of the year, Philly travels to Dallas to try to pull even with the 'Boys atop the East. The Cowboys topped the Eagles just four weeks ago in their first meeting, so if they sweep Philly on Sunday, the 'Boys will enter the final three games of the season with essentially a three-game lead over the Eagles. NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund astutely pointed out this week that if Philly wins, their probability to make the playoffs is 54 percent. If the Iggles lose? Just 25 percent. TL;DR: Issa big deal.

Elsewhere in the division in Week 14, the Commanders host New York in Landover with their third-string quarterback under center. Back by popular demand in my household -- and necessity in Washington's -- Mark Sanchez will play a pivotal role over the next four weeks in the divisional and wild-card races in the NFC. Mark Travis John Sanchez, he who "led" the New York Jets to two consecutive AFC Championship Games in his first two NFL seasons, only to be cast off years later as a backup/bench coach and remembered by simpletons as a butt fumbler. He is the man who will be tasked, in the absence of Alex Smith and Colt McCoy, to lead D.C. back to the postseason. At minimum, the 6-6 'Skins will need to split their final four against NYG, JAX, TEN and PHI to have a shot at reaching the dance. A loss to New York on Sunday would likely doom those chances. But a win, spurred on by a written-off former first-round pick, could jump-start a wonderful redemption story in the swamp.

NY is without Landon Collins and their O seems to be playing better. But still against Sanchez, I wonder if they can pull off a win inWashington.
If so it will be good. They will be 5-8 and Washington goes to 6-7.

We beat Philly, got to 8-5, they drop to 6-7. So this is a huge week. If the happen, we just need to beat the Colts, or really just win 1 of the last 3. We take the division.

This game still has me a bit nervous being a rival game, and basically for the division. As if we lose, then we need to have the Eagles lose a game or 2, while we will need to win the last 3, unless they lose 2 games, we will still need to win 2 games.

I think if we end up tied, we may still have the tie breakers, but we must win the NY game, and they will need to lose to Washington or NY. Unless we finish one game better than them overall.

Like I said if Garrett blows this, he needs to be fired. But Jerry will have an excuse. That is even a bigger fear.

As pointed out a win vs Philly is essentially a three-game lead. Beat Philly Sunday then any Cowboys win or eagles loss gets the division.

If we avoid turning the ball over and beating ourselves I think we win Sunday. It'll be a battle. The Gals still have to play the Rams and Houston. I can't see them winning both and possibly not either. You know who the spoiler could be in all of this, the Giants! They are playing better football offensively in their past 3 games and Eli to OBJ is working again. Add Barkley to that mix. The Giants, in their stadium, the last game of the season for us could be the deciding factor. I've seen it happen before and won't be surprised

it won't matter come sunday @ 4:00... Dallas beats the snot out of Wentz and the Egirls and we walk into the playoffs. Take me at my word here, Sunday is a win, the Egirls just barely got by a depleted Skins team with a D that's half of what we have going. get out that popcorn

Yes.
But Washington still needs to lose a game somewhere.

True, I just can't see Washington winning given their QB situation. I think they made their last stand vs Philly. As for NY best they can do by winning out is 8-8. For the most part this is a 2 team race and a Cowboy win puts us up pretty much 3 games on Philly with 3 games to go

I think the Commanders are finished. I'd be surprised to read that they win another game. They've lost too many offensive linemen (yet again) and Sanchez is simply incompetent. He never was a great quarterback and he's only gotten worse getting less work. And in this league, you don't win without a quarterback.

This week against Philly is the Cowboys season. If you win one more game, it is this one. Everything else is prelude to getting to a position like this. It is for the division and getting into the playoffs. The winner is in the driver's seat while the loser scrambles and hopes.

Win this game.

No more excuses for Dak or Garrett.................Prove Jerry's faith in both of you by winning this game and getting Dallas back to the playoffs where they belong.....................

And win they will skywalker... win they will....

I hope so. They certainly should. They just beat this team in their own building and now get to play at home. Their offense continues to improve (over what it was), and their defense just put in the best performance by any defense this entire season. And now the division is theirs for the taking and the playoffs theirs for the making.

I just don't want to hear any excuses, or woulda, coulda, shoulda talk about tiebreakers or "if the Eagles lose" after this week.

Win this game.

It's simple - just win Sunday.

Don't worry about any other team other than this Sunday's opponent.
