For most of the past 30 years, the NFC East has unquestionably been the toughest division in football. Undisputed.

With the emergence of teams like Seattle, San Francisco, and possibly St.Louis - has the tide turned on the NFC Beast? Or are we a few years from really knowing for sure?

I think the Commanders, Cowboys and Giants are still competitive--the Eagles are crap. I am not buying the Seattle hype--I just don't trust Pete Carroll. I think the Niners walk away with that division. Hell, I'll even go out on a limb and say St. Louis finishes ahead of them in the standings. NFC North is up there, AFC North. I'd say those are the top three NFC North, NFC East, and AFC North in that order. The NFC South could be very interesting with Sean Payton returning and I have a hunch the Panthers are a team no one is talking about right now...

Are the Eagles bad enough that the Skins, Giants, Cowboys can afford to rest starters against them and beat them with their second-string players? May be a good strategic move to protect starters against injury as much as possible.

I dont know about the last 30 years thats a stretch. But this year like last they are in a 3 way tie for the 3rd toughest division.

1- nfc west
2 - afc north
3- nfc east nfc, nfc north, nfc south but a lot of these teams could beat the afc north so I dunno
