Jimmy inherited a horrible roster.

Garrett's wasn't much better, but he had a quarterback.

Until season three, Troy Aikman was Jimmy Johnson's second choice at quarterback.

Out of the 8 new head coaches from the 2011 season, only 2 remain, Ron Rivera and Jason Garrett. The most successful coaches were John Fox and Jim Harbaugh, no longer with their respective teams. Comes to show you the patience Jerry has had. From 2011, only 10 head coaches remain coaching their teams (Rivera, Garrett, John Harbaugh, Marvin Lewis, McCarthy, Belichick, Payton, Coughlin, Tomlin, & Carroll). There is so much coaching turmoil in only 4 years.

So did Jimmy, his 1st player taken was a 1st rd pick Troy Aikman and while the roster was poor there was no salary cap in place nor FA other than plan B free agency
