Eagles lose badly to the Titans (lost 4 of their last 5) and lose McNabb to injury.
Saints have lost two in a row and are spiraling towards earth.
Falcons are in shambles losing three in a row.

Win today and take care of business against the Bucs and the playoff picture is looking pretty rosey.

To add to that, Chicago does not exactly look like world beaters themselves.

No they don't, but they did shutout their opponent today.

And Minnesota losing badly to the Dolphins.

And just when it looks like the Packers might become a surprise team they get completely dismantled by the Pats.

Its not exactly something to shoot for, but I wouldn't be surprised if an 8-8 team gets the final playoff spot in the NFC.

true, although I can attribute that to the Jets offensive ineptitude and shooting themselves in the foot.

I think a 9-7 team will definitely make it to the playoffs.

A loss today and we can still be considered a favorite in the wild card race.

Thats' one of the most 'opportunistic' defenses I've witnessed in a long while. Their picks of Pennington today (a very careful passer) were indicative of a defense that's been well coached to play smart odds.

And opportunistic they've gotta be - while Grossman finds his bearings.

I agree.

And even if we did lose today I like our chances.

With Romo, I think we match up well against Chicago.

Yep, I think the key to Chicago is working the short and intermediate passing routes with quick step drops neutralize their pass rush. That's what makes the Giants a bad matchup with the Bears, their passing attack revolves around Eli heaving it down field. It doesn't help when Eli has one of those games where he can't hit the broadside of a barn.

If you saw that up the middle nifty Cedric Houston run in the first half, I envisioned JJ doing the exact same.

Urlacher is en fuego tho, just playing great ball.

The Jets gave that game away with the onside kick right after the half. Talk about shooting your self. They were going stride for stride with the Bears, up to that point.

Today a win would be great, but if we dont the East isn't out of the question.
The Giants will go down tonight, the eagles and Skins are done.

That's EXACTLY the image in my mind.

our offense will have to play the game of their lives to even score 7 on Chicago. Call me a pessimist only when it comes to discussing ways to beat the Bears. Their D is ferocious.
