I know it's not good to look a head, but I'm interested in seeing how things pan out.

If we win against Indy, we win the East, and lock up at least the 4th playoff spot. That also means there's very little to play for over our last two games other than moving up to the 3rd playoff spot.

I would be very much against resting our players against the Bucs and Giants. But it may look like both teams would be eliminated by the end of the weekend. So those two games may be a battle of the backups.

Win or lose, I want us to head into the playoffs with a full head of steam. We've done the rest our players bit before and always came out flat. Maybe pull our starters after half time during the Giants game, but nothing else. We definitely can't afford to blow another playoff opportunity because our players were rested by rusty.

I think we have something special this year. Let's not waste it.

True but I also think Cowboys have to be smart with some players who have been banged up like Martin. He has been playing on a sprained MCL and having to gut it out, I think giving him some rest to get that knee closer to 100% would only benefit the Cowboys.

We keep playing to stay sharp and focused and hopefully catch Chicago for the 3rd. But JG will relax the team and we will see how that goes.

Yes, Martin definitely needs to rest. Williams can take over his spot for some much needed reps.

We can rest anyone who's borderline hurt. But the rest of the team is on full alert !!! :)

They can do both. Play to stay sharp, play to win, keep the winning mentality.
But can rest players too. Not as much as many would want.

But they can sit Martin. They can reduce Zeke's carries.
can't sit or rest everyone one, but can limit their plays.

I think they play everyone through the TB game as usual, with the exception of Martin or any other players with dings.
Then play them in the NY game, but start pulling them out as the game goes along. Unless they are playing for the 3rd seed still.
Heck who knows, may be playing for the 2nd seed if the Rams or Saints have a collapse. Doubt it, but it could, and has happened before.

Look at the Steelers, they are on the verge of missing the playoffs. Lose a few more games. They can lose to NE and NO. Ravens win a few as ell as Colts, Titans, Denver all looking for a playoff spot.

seattle at home to KC next week...should be an indicator of how good they are,,,but seattle will play road games in the playoffs and they aren't as good there

would prefer minny in rd 1 (they are a mess), but they have to get there first

I am fine with resting guys that are genuinely knicked up... also fine with resting in the 2nd half of the NYG game.

Bottom line is that we will be playing in round one of the playoffs so there won’t be any down time anyway.

Any little breather for our injured guys is a bonus. We need our OL in top form to make a run

I'd like to beat Indy with our best healthy players.
Take a game off versus TB and lose to end long winning streak(old Jimmy theory of needing a loss to motivate).
Then play well versus NYG to crush a division foe and be ready to go for the playoffs.
10-6 and Division champs, host a very imperfect SEA team in a home town rematch where we now have Cooper and they no longer have Earl.

Don't be "smart". Play your players. It's a man's sport. Take your best swing at it in the postseason and let the chips fall where they may.
I agree. Look at the Patriots, even when they have the number 1 seed, Brady is still out there playing.

No no no!!! We don’t need to rest our players last 2 games. Do you not remember what happened 2 years ago when we “rested” our players. They didn’t engage until the second half vs Green Bay. Let them play. I’m ok with them sitting out 2nd half of Giants game but that’s it!

if you harken back to September there was a lot of talk about how we didnt play our starters enough in the preseason and then we did come out very flat in the first few weeks, so you may have a point
