The Giants win, they are in. Easiest to calculate.

The Commanders, Vikings, and Saints are the rest of the candidates. As it stands right now, Giants are 5 seed, Vikings 6 seed, Saints 7 seed, and Commanders 8 seed. They need the most help by far, even if they take care of business.

Commanders and Vikings matchup this week is very big. The winner has the upper hand because of head to head if they end with like records. If the Vikings win they maintain the upper hand on the Saints, but a Vikings loss in week 17 opens the door.

If the Giants lose out and the Commanders and Saints win out, they could go from the #5 seed right now, to out of the playoffs. That is how wide open this is.

No way the Commanders win out. We're going to ruin their hopes. :D

If they do suck out and beat us and the Vikings they could still miss the playoffs if the Giants win one game and the Saints win out. The Saints would go by virtue of a better NFC record.

Their best chance to beat us is if Green Bay loses this week. If we win and Green Bay wins, no way either team rests their starters week 17 because they both play early games and Home Field is on the line.

Clear as mud?

Sounds like a plan. I REALLY hope that the Commanders lose this week though, so maybe they get down and we get ahead and rest our starters. I don't see GB losing their last two, but miracles do happen...the Bears may play them tough.

I thought i read that Carolina still has a chance....slim but something like they win out...Saints lose both...Vikings lose both....Giants lose both....Skins beat the Vikes then lose to us....clear as mud..

Technically yes, because they have a decent NFC record.

I personally think their chances are about 1 in 1000 so I didn't include them.

Actually, if the Vikings win on Sunday doesn't that eliminate the Commanders? Both NY and Minnesota would then have 9 wins and Washington would have 8 losses.

Then it would be up the Saints to settle the wild card this weekend or delay it to Week 17.

If this weekend goes the way I think it will, Dallas beats Carolina and GB loses to Chicago, the Cowboys will have HFA wrapped up. If this happens, how do you see Wade handling that last game against Washington? Does he play the starters for one quater or what? Does he play the backups the whole game? I think the Giants do drop their final two, so the Commanders may have a shot at the playoffs in that last game. Could be very interesting. What do you think Hos?

I would rest as many players as I could. Maybe play them a quarter to kepe them sharp, then to the bench and get people in there. Start looking at how they'll be used next year.

hmmm... for me, hoping the Commanders lose has nothing to do with "this week". i hope for that every week.

I agree. I think you maybe give them the first quarter and then get them out. I am sooooo ready for the playoffs to start:starspin

keep the saints out, I will play the other three.

I hope tampa keeps that 3 seed. I like the idea of seattle coming here and tampa going to gb.

I think the Giants are going to miss the playoffs. I think they lose to Buffalo and they are going to get smoked by the Pats.

I would actually rather the giants made it in because I think Dallas could roll that team without shockey.
