The NFL will break tradition this year not having the Champs open up the season. The Pats will open up on Sunday night with its openent to be announced next week as regular season schedules are announced.

The NFL decided commerating this seasons celebration of its 100th season would be appropriate to begin with 2 of the original teams in Chicago where George Halas was an original founder.

In an announcement of NFL Media programming that will launch in conjunction with the league’s 100th season this year, NFL Films will produce its “NFL 100 Greatest” series to count down the league’s 100 greatest plays, teams, games, characters and game-changers. That series will run on NFL Network over 10 weeks — from Week 2-11 — this fall.

In addition, NFL Films will unveil its NFL 100 all-time team through six one-hour specials in the fall. And lastly, the league, in conjunction with ESPN, will air a 30-episode show called “Peyton’s Places” with Peyton Manning traveling the country to visit some of the game’s most special places and speak with some of the league’s most special people historically.

I'd love to see them play the game with 1920 rules and equipment.
