Yikes.

We are closing in on a 300 lb QB as well. Jared Lorenzen is about a biscuit away..

I remember back in Highschool, our punter and kickoff guy was a starting linebacker and already close to 300lbs.

What we really need is a 300 pound RB and a 300 pound CB.

Something else about this...in 1988 there were approx. 60 rolls of toilet paper used per week per team.

In 2007 they estimate that approx. 1,749 rolls of toilet paper will be used per week per team.

;)

That averages out to15.6 players per team that are over 300 lbs. Since that is the average, you know at least a couple of teams have at least 17 guys on their current rosters that weigh in at over 300 lbs.

You didn't go to high school back when I did.

When I was in high school it took a CB and LB both standing on a scale to equal 300 lbs.

WEll, I'm not QUITE that old, but in the 1970's and early 1980's it wasn't uncommon to see O-linemen weigh in at 160 - and one's on very strong teams.

Many of these 300 lb guys are way over 300 lbs and lean. Does anyone know who the biggest guy in the league is?

Well, Larry Allen has to be up there, even if he's listed "only" in the 325 range.

Ted Washington is listed as 375.

Of course we are talking 85 man rosters vs. 53's -- I'd guess a lot of these fatties get cut early since they are more likely to be out of shape

One of the folks on Sirius this morning stated that weight was the 2nd most overrated measurable in the NFL.....second only to speed. Just sayin.'

When I played high school ball in SoCal in the early 70s I was one of 8 guys on the team over 200 lbs, on a 50-man roster. Our heaviest player was 245 lbs, next was around 230. I played as a freshman on the varsity and weighed 205 playing OLB/DE.

We played against Carson High and went up against their Samoan O-Line who all went 270+ but they were an unusually large team.
