Apparently, they were making $5B per year in the last deal. This one is worth $9B per year. Don’t the revenues have to be split equally between players and owners? If so, that’s an extra $2B/32 franchises which means $60M that could potentially be added to the salary cap.

Thanks. That decreases the projection from $60M to $50M that can be potentially added to the salary cap just accounting for this one increase in revenue.

The CAP amount doesnt change a thing. At the moment will are projected as last in CAP Space for the next three years (22-24), as EVERY team will have the same increase we will still be faced with 31 teams being able to out bid us for the better FA's.

People like to point to just the ratings.


They fail to account for the fact that TV ratings across the board are down due to steaming and other factors. The NFL’s market share of viewers is as strong as ever.


And as these new deals show. The NFL is going to be getting into the streaming game. So people who “cut the cord” on cable can stream games through Amazon, ESPN+, peacock, etc.
