Who Are The Best and Worst Owners in the NFL?
For billionaires and entrepreneurs, football ownership is seen as an attractive investment opportunity. But while the new owners can expect impressive returns on investments, what benefit does the club and its fans get to enjoy?

To find out, the team at BonusFinder looked at a number of key owner indicators such as stadium facilities, team investment, average active cash, super bowl wins, stadium relocations and more.

The teams scoring the highest in each category were deemed to have the best owners.

I think most people on this board would agree Jerry is a pretty good owner.

How is Jerry a good owner???

1- if he has a good coach he will get rid of him because any credit would go to them (Jimmy, Parcells)
2- he refuses to get a GM
3- he kept Garrett way to long.
4- he overpays players who then hog the cap (Zeke, Dlaw) because he gets somekind of sick personal attachment to them which only goes 1 way
5- he constantly demeans his coaches by second guessing them publicly (Fassell) or making decisions that should be solely theirs
6- he is looked down at by the 31 other owners who actually all joined together and told Jerry to shut up or they would attempt to vote him out of the NFL
7- thinks hes a spokesman for the NFL and gets involved in other teams instead of concentrating on his own ( Raiders, Saints, Bills)
8- he hasnt won anything in 27 years. If u take away Jimmy hes never won anything
9- He cant hire- Garrett was a bad HC but he wouldnt replace because he doesnt know how to interview. MM was hired in 10 minutes with no other interviews because again he cant do them

I can go on. Really why do some people say hes a good owner. What has he done to be called a good owner. I think hes the worst in the NFL and I'm not saying that because we never win anything

But he is one of the top five worst GMs.
five heck no!! average middles of the pack yes..hes not even our true GM if you think that you aren't paying attention. We have a GM By Committee most of the real gm duty's are done by Will Mcclay with a few others all making decisions like board of directors..
let the bad years go i1997-2004 a lot of mistakes were made, of late last 10 years far more good then bad thats for sure..let it go..

Jerry should be #1 on both best and worst list...

But he is one of the top five worst GMs.

Consider me one who doesn't think that he is a good owner. He's an outstanding businessman and marketer, and he's without peer amongst his NFL brethren in that regard.

But, as an owner, he leaves a lot to be desired. By installing himself and his son as the chief football decision makers, and making the team more about his ego and vanity than onfield success, that is not the sign of a good owner. A good owner would give his team the best opportunity to win, and hold people accountable for the results. This does not happen with the Dallas Cowboys.

I don't know how one goes about selecting the best and worst owners but for me that would be accomplishments on the field and the overall appeal of the team to the city, the image projected to the youth of the market because like it or not, those are the role models, along with pop stars.

Some owners are more tolerant of "bad actors" and don't care about the image and Booger has proven he is that type of owner with some of the players he has brought in and kept. His own personal behavior is questionable as is Kraft's but he put winners on the field. Then you get Irsay with his drugs and Richardson and Snyder with their issues within the team office.

I find it odd using the word "best" associated with what most consider the consortium of greed that NFL ownership represents. To counter that, I would assume they would have to be those owners that return the most money to their markets to help the city and unfortunate. They all do some of that for image and they need it.

Halloween is on Sunday this year and I think it would be fitting if all those attending NFL games that day and night dressed as bled out turnips.

Psssssttt. Let me let you in on the dirty little secret. Listen carefully. THE OWNER HIRES THE GM.

So, you think a good owner deliberately employs a crapp GM? How is he a good owner? This owner you like has deliberately destroyed the team.

Cry cry cry more over Jones. It doesn't matter. He isn't going anywhere until he dies and then it will just be Stephen taking over and then you all can cry for many more years.[/QUOTE/]

Then quit crying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How in the world did you feel the need to clock into this thread just to complain?

IMHO, a lot of this is subjective and agenda driven. People will debate their own version of the truth until the cows come, and even after the cows sell, the property is razed, and the cows are herded into a government funded cul-de-sac. Emotions rise, tempers erupt, namecalling ensues, virtually nothing is proven or gained, and valuable time is wasted forever. But I’m just being a smartypants.

My opinion, which no one cares about besides me, is that most of us have a love/hate thing with our owner. In some ways, he’s the worst. In other ways, he’s among the best. Either way, 7 billion Chinese don’t give a poopy.

Not going to debate all the responses to my post, however....

The Owners job is to promote and build the franchise, the GM is the team builder.
Jerry is very good at extracting the maximum value from the franchise, lousy at running the team.

That's MHO.
