If you look around we can see many coaches that will be axed in the off season that being said aren't you guys worried about potential Cowboy coaching candidates being scooped early say if NFl teams start firing HC before the season ends.....KC for example. Hell I'm even so bold to predict that if the Vikings don't go far into the playoffs Brad will be fired. We all know Wade won't be back..these boys are not going far probably not even into the playoffs the way things look...shouldn't JJ make a move in midseason to secure a HC like Shanny or Holmgren? What do you guys think?

I think getting Shanny, Holmgren, Cowher, and the likes is only going to get us more of the same.

Please find me someone under the age of 40 who can relate with todays players and is not afraid to show a little energy.

I would try to get one of them sooner rather than later, but JJ likely won't.

I'm guessing we have Wade until end of the season.

Good observation I notice NFl HC are much younger now at days...but those are hit or miss....I think the Cowboys have had enough misses to last a lifetime.

I heard Mike Holmgren on ESPN radio week said that he likes having the year off but plans to get back into coaching in 2010.

It seems to be the new way to do this.

Jason Garrett is my guy. I refuse to apologize for wanting him.

Mike Holmgren left Green Bay so that he would have much more control over personnel and football operations in Seattle. Why would he come here????????

Not saying he would. Plus, didn't he give up some control and they went to SB after that. Just saying he wants back in.

Jerry will stick with Garrett. That is the young coach he will look at. If not Garrett, he will go with a young, cheap Wade, who will be his puppet and have no power, but will be happy to have and NFL head coaching job.

I still think he will go for a minority, a hispanic who can bring in the hispanics to the new stadium to see the incredible video boards.

Wouldn't bringing Holmgren in here be another short-term solution (a la Parcells & Wade)?

How bout bringing in a guy who may actually be here longer than 4 years?

Bold. I'm not totally sold on JG as OC.

I actually like Garrett better as a head coach. The org chart is dysfunctional as it is. If JG were to be named the head guy with a 10 year contract, it might give him the clout to get the job done.

As it is, the defense continues to fail in the 4th quarter and the OL is a hodgepodge of talent and boneheads, sometimes within the same player.

hes my pick also

keep Herring as DC

Dat to LB coach

keep Sheman as WR coach
keep Peete as RB coach
maybe keep Grantham
keep Houck as line coach because the line has come around a little since hes been here

maybe Ken Zampese is in his seventh season as Bengals quarterbacks coach. He has guided the development of Carson Palmer into one of the NFL's elite passers and team leaders. as - OC
or Hue Jackson OC

fire Wade - Campo - Maxie - Wade Wilson - Wesley Phillips - Juraszek
Juraszek cause there some reason our guys are getting tired at the end of a game
please fire Wade Wilson because I think he held Troy back as a QB when Troy was QB

Jason would have been my pick over Wade to begin with. The only way I want Garrett to get the job this year is if Wade is fired mid-season. Otherwise Garrett has shown me enough to see that he probably won't make a good HC. He might, but from what I have seen, probably not.

Extremely poor at in game adjustments.
Extremely predictable.
Repeats the same mistakes over and over again.
Extremely stubborn.

I do like that he is younger and well...I guess thats about it. I have never seen him show any real fire and this offensive unit looks very unprepared most of the time, ie. not knowing where to line up, barely getting the plays off. Some of it is of course on the players but some of that is Garrett. Any way, I'll take Garrett over another short term old guy, but as far as young guys go, he is at the bottom of the list, IMO.

This is so the wrong way to go about it. Fire the HC AND THE ENTIRE STAFF. Hire a new HC and here is a novel idea, let the HC pick his staff. Try it Jerry.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff Fisher here.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have enough skins on the wall to keep GM Jerry at bay.

Jason Garrett as Head Coach would be a complete disaster. Like the great Bill Parcells use to say when reporters would ask him if he was going to let players play multiple position, "He's having trouble keeping his own house from burning".
