Would be ok with this draft but rather sub out Samuel. He exploded this year, but dont know where he fits as an RB or WR.

Agree....he's a luxury we can't afford in the 2nd round. He wouldn't get more than 3-5 touches a game tops with our current lineup. Makes no sense to me. Go with a D.Tackle(especially if McClain leaves), LB or CB in round 2.

Really depends on free agency, who we lose, who we sign, etc. If we can't retain our dbs those positions immediately become a top need and the first two picks should be spent on de and a db. If we resign most of our own and are able to add a pass rusher we gain more draft flexibility to take the best available. Thats the only scenerio where we may want to invest a higher pick in a WR. Its more of a luxury position and aside from Williams there are a number of capable free agent receivers that could also fill that role. However, I'll take a WR over another TE in the second. We're all tired of 2nd round tes who sit on the bench.

I would not hate this draft.

I had heard Samuel had some Reggie Bush (college version) or Percy Harvin to him, and tuned in on him about 4 or 5 games. I wasn't super impressed.

Douglas is intriguing.
Samuel's a talent. OSU had no one else to throw to.

I wouldn't mind this draft at all.

But more likely our top 3 picks will be:

1) Small school DB who killed it at the combine.
2) Tight End.
3) Injured guy who slips a round.

Maybe we can combine 2 and 3 and take Jake Butt and use one of the picks for an actual productive player. One can dream.

At the very least, this front office has nailed their first round picks for the most part.

Yes, although for the life of me, I'll never understand Byron Jones over Landon Collins.

You have the benefit of hindsight. Plus Dallas took Jones because they wanted a versatile defensive back. Collins, while having a great season, is purely a safety. He can't slide down into the slot, he can't play CB in a pinch, etc. And at the time of the draft, he was seen as strictly a safety. I think they wanted a DB who had the ability to do more.

It's not hindsight. Anyone who watched Landon Collins knew how much he stood out, even in the midst of a bunch of future NFLers. The Cowboys were swayed by a workout warrior.

The Cowboys were swayed by the flexibility of Jones. They said that at the time of his drafting.

Collins can't play CB. Jones can and that's why they liked him.

I am not saying Jones is better than Collins, mind you. But I understand why they took Jones over Collins.

Byron has one more year to be something or he is what he is. He was billed as this smart guy, well he should know the defense in and out then. Let's see the athleticism show itself with production

I think what you mean is that Collins can only play safety and Jones can play neither
