NFL.com: 25 top rookies, LVE top NFC defensive player

I was okay with the pic I thought he needed a year under his belt to learn but some people here thought He was going to be the next Bobby Carpenter I won't mention any names :omg:

In hindsight, nearly no better pick we could've made given Lee's evident injury issues this season and apparent / unfortunate regression.

I'm not going to lie, I hated the pick. I REALLY hated the pick considering Derwin James was within striking distance. I still wouldn't mind having James if I'm being 100% honest but LVE has been a beast and we're damn lucky to have him. Absolutely love this kid.

Given the development of Xaiver Woods (closing out the season as a top 5 FS per PFF), if we remove LVE from this roster, we are much better off with LVE given Lee's injuries.

James is an excellent player, but a LB core of Wilson / Smith / RandomDude wouldn't lead us to the playoffs, if James came in and replaced either Heath or Woods.

Heath also isn't some terrible liability either. We can improve at SS for sure, but remove LVE and have injured Lee, and LB is our top need. We made the right call.

I think I speak on behalf of 90% of cowboys fans when I say I wanted to see Derwin James keep dropping but wow look how it worked out

Won't argue with any of that, my friend.

Absolutely.

I still hate to see the regression of Sean Lee. This community seems to be forgetting that he was a one man defense for almost a decade.
Unfortunately that’s the way it goes, when something new and shiny comes along the old gets dropped
