ASHBURN, Va. -- Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El were unable to practice again Friday, putting the Washington Commanders in a perilous position at receiver for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Moss is sidelined with a bruised heel and is listed as questionable on the injury report, but neither Moss nor coach Joe Gibbs sounded optimistic that the injury would heal sufficiently before game time.

"Same that it felt all week. Sore. Hurts. Painful," Moss said. "I couldn't tell you yes or no right now. It's one of those things where I'll just have to see how it feels on Sunday."

Randle El has had a relapse of a nagging hamstring injury. He is listed as probable, but the injury likely will have an effect on his speed and agility if he plays.

"It's a frustration for us," Gibbs said, "knowing how important this (game) is."

The Commanders are the only team in the NFL without a touchdown pass to a wide receiver this season, and Moss and Randle El are the only wideouts who have been somewhat productive. The other receivers on the roster -- James Thrash, Keenan McCardell, Brandon Lloyd and Reche Caldwell -- have combined to catch only nine passes through eight games. Lloyd wasn't allowed to travel to last week's game against the New York Jets after missing a team meeting.

Moss has struggled since missing the Oct. 7 game against Detroit with a groin injury, catching only 12 passes for 98 yards over four games. Randle El hurt his hamstring in the Detroit game and has since caught only nine passes for 141 yards.

Two other Commanders with hamstring injuries, cornerback Fred Smoot and linebacker Marcus Washington, practiced and are listed as probable. Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin (back) also practiced and is probable.

These injuries shouldn't hurt the Skins much. Campbell wouldn't be able to get them the ball whether they played or not.

Doesn't matter whether Moss plays or not. They rarely ever throw to their WRs. Now if Cooley or Sellers were out, then Campbell would really be in trouble.

:laugh1: funny but very true.

The Commanders are the only team in the NFL without a touchdown pass to a wide receiver this season

J. Campbell attempted 227 passes and not one WR can get one for a TD, that's pretty sad, both campbell and WRs.

They should still beat the Eagles(I hope)-that team's in shambles.

Why would you hope that the 5-3 Commanders would beat the 3-5 Eagles?? It would be in the Cowboys' best interest if the opposite occurred...

I don't like either team or their fans, but this Sunday, I'll be pulling for the Iggles all the way... I want the Skins coming into Texas Stadium the following Sunday 5-4, losers of 2 of their last 3, and of course, 3 games behind the Boys...
