The bolded are the guys I'd bring back. Jenkins however will prob price himself out of contention for us.

I didn't see Sterling Moore on that list but thought he was just brought in for the year. Young player with potential to be a pretty decent backup. I liked him better than Coe. Did we sign him to a longer term deal?

I believe Moore was signed to a 2 year deal.

Would not bring back Jenkins on that list, and not sure Butler fits a 4-3?

Frampton was excellent on Special Teams, and for cheap - why not, need those guys....

Sims, I hope he sticks here for decent price. He's young and was a solid backup - he was high draft pick that is starting to Finally show a bit of what was expected...

Spencer I feel needs to be signed or franchised one more year...

Just my thoughts.

I think Costa is underrated. We missed him this past year.

I know that isn't the popular opinion around here.

Butler could be kept as a pass rush specialist or even the weak side(backup) playing what Seahawks call the "leo" end. They used undersized guys at that spot in Clemons and Irvin. Irvin's weakness like Butler is run stopping.

A lot of those guys that we signed towards the end of the year like Moore(not sure if he's a free agent?), Coe, Sims, Peprah and Frampton? I wouldn't be opposed to bringing them back. For the record they weren't bad players it was just they played more snaps then they should've had too. Most are depth guys but I'd like to bring them back cheap.

Have we seen enough from Butler to warrant him being a pass rush specialist? I saw more out of Irvin in his rookie year than i've seen Butler in his whole career. I just don't think the guy is much of a pass rusher.

coming from the same guy that thinks he knows better then Roger Staubach, Troy AIkman, and Kurt Warner as regards Romo why should your opinion be taken seriously?

I agree. When he came back against the ravens we ran the ball with a purpose and did unbelievable.

Sterling Moore signed for 2 years, so he's under contract thru 2013 season.

I'm wondering which other teams are going to release decent offensive linemen.

It's not about price with Jenkins. He is not going to return to the Cowboys for any price. He will be a starter somewhere even if they pay him less in 2013 than the Cowboys offer him as a backup.

I'm assuming when you bolded McCray, you'd only want him on special teams right? I don't want that dude anywhere near our defense. The only thing he excels at is injuring players, typically his own teammates.

they all know more football than i could ever dream of knowing.

i was once a staunch believer and defender of tony romo.there are times when the guy looks like he could be the best quarterback in the league!then i watch him against the Commanders(both games), and it snaps me back into reality.

i was right there with them on romo up until the last game of the season in 2011.

his performance that night turned me against him.

Dallas Cowboys

Unrestricted free agents:
Victor Butler, DE; He might be re-signed as a pass-rush specialist. He has shown some ability as a pass-rusher, but none as a run defender or in coverage.
Michael Coe, CB; They might bring him to camp.
Kenyon Coleman, DE; Done.
Derrick Dockery, OL; Done.
Eric Frampton, S; They could bring him to camp. He is probably as good as McCray on special teams but better as a backup Safety.
Mike Jenkins, CB; Gone.
Felix Jones, RB; Gone.
L.P. LaDouceur, OL; Please re-sign.
Brian Moorman, P; Gone.
Kevin Ogletree, WR; Time to move on.
Charlie Peprah, S; They might bring him to camp if he signs cheap.
John Phillips, TE; Gone. They need a better blocker.
Brady Poppinga, LB; Gone.
Ernie Sims, LB; They should re-sign him. He is a great fit at LB in a Kiffin defense.
Anthony Spencer, LB: Too expensive. Not a perfect fit at Strong-Side DE and Ware is the starter at Weak-Side DE.

Restricted free agents:

Phil Costa, OL; Do they just give him the 1 year tender or a longer term contract. He is a 10x better run blocker than Kyle Cook.
Danny McCray, S; He will have to fight for a job if they sign Frampton who is also a great Special Teams player.
