NFL Combine weigh in...

hahah yeah right,

at 6'1" i diubt I have 21 inch arms, I don't have people measure my arms. But it two 45 pound plates on each side. Thats 225.

I work out with 255 12, 10 and put 265 for 8 and 275 for 6 every work out 3 days a week.

I always felt this was more of an endurance test than a strenght test.

I'm sure the guys you mentioned all have a higher max than you. Plus, their bulk certainly makes them stronger blockers than we could measure from this test.

That's pretty impressive super cowboy. I did 275 the other day twice. I usually do 225 6-8 times. I weigh 180 so. But what's weird is some of these guys in the nfl don't do as much as you'd expect. Jason Pierre Paul only did 19 I was kinda taken back by that truthfully

Redball and Callahan seem much more happier with smaller O linemen. And their experience with Bigg won't help Glenn. Might be the reason we have heard no official interest in Nicks, since he is pretty big as well

I think we can disregard anything that we might have heard, with regards to OL makeup from the past. Now that Callahan is here, he may well have his own ideas and he is far and away a better judge of OL talent then Red or JJ. I mean, he may well agree with the previous opinions on smaller mobile OLs but I don't think we can count on that.

JPP is very long so that hurts on the bench

The bench is over rated but you should atleast be able to get in the average.

Well I will say, I do love Glenn's versatility, especially when you consider we don't know how good Free will be next year. Last year, Free was a disaster, hopefully he comes around, but if he doesn't, I would love to have the versatility of Glenn to be able to move to that position.

This. I think you can not discount this. I do believe that Free is going to work out once we get him with a good Guard next to him but I agree. You have to take this into consideration.

Heck, I think Amini Silatolu is going to be one heck of a good Guard. He may turn out to be the best of them. I'm really excited about him.

It is, its more about endurance to bench that long than it is about pure strenght I agree. I said in another thread that the bench is over rated. PLayers that never do anything in the NFL has shown this.

I haven't maxed in a while because it makes me weak for weeks after. Last time I maxed was a year ago and it was 405. I mayby could have done alittle more but I hate maxing out.

I have mentioned before my wife's uncle is Chad Clifton. His career bench max was 525 but he said he couldn't bench 225 more than 34 times at that time. His combine was only 24. So yes this is very overrated but still fun to watch.

I think it's closer than many think. You can't go wrong with either.
You also have to look at where they played.
Decastro was a RG playing in the pac 12 and performed very well
Glenn plaed LG and moved out to LT this year in the SEC and performed very very well.

I am a big SEC fan myself , so I understand that viewpoint . Tyron Smith should disprove this line of thinking IMO .

I think its interesting that although alot of hate is handed around here on JJ, the one position he should at least know a lil bit about is guard. After all, he did start at guard when he played at Arkansas and won a national championship in the process.

JJ was a very small guard, and played big. Should be interesting to see what he thinks and what Callahan's influence in the process of picking an OL will be.

yeah to a point, yes, Smith played well.
I said I like DeCastro I just don't think they are as far away from each other as some say.
I would take either and be happy.

Yeah, having a guy who can swing out to tackle who is playing guard would enable us to not have to carry an active swing tackle on gameday. Of course, if DeCastro can actually play center, he could help out in the regard also, although I would rather have the guy who could play tackle on gameday.

Thats pretty damn good for 180. I wiegh 40 pounds more than you so I would hope since I hit the gym for 7 to 11 hours a week I could bench more. If I was at 220 and couldn't that would be sad. But at 180 thats very good.

Has anybody heard how many benchpress reps that Bobby Massie , the OT from Ole Miss , did ?

He did 22.

He is my petcat . I think he would be a great swing tackle until he was ready to start at guard or tackle . Thanks for the info .

I agree.

I enjoy watching the bench a lot more than watching the 40.

what are you doing, I hope not the same workouts everyday. Muscles need time to heal and build. The biceps are a small muscle so don't over dp those they will never get full strength if you do.

I hope your switching up your workouts and not doing the same thing everyday. 5-7 days a week is alot to workout your body.
Are you taking any protein and how many hours you workout?

I switch it up every week I can not do the same routine every week to boring for me. And I eat 50 carbs a day and around 150-200 grams of protein. I'm trying to lean out not get too much bulk. I was 250 in college and was worried bout getting huge
