Tom Jackson is about the most classless ******* on TV! He just advocated that stopping Romo would be to hit him even if it costs a 15 yard penalty.

Why would a TV analyst come on TV and tell the young people of the world that do play football that incurring a 15 yard penalty is OK in order to TRY AND STOP the QB? What kind of message is that sending to everyone? That just really makes me sick to hear a TV analyst say such stuff! A fan, OK, an opposing player, maybe, but this clown!

*** did he just say.. holy crap.. :laugh2:

Edit: Sorry for being so vague. But his comments on the Giants/Lions segment were absolutely comical.

Read the blog about Jackson being a gay commie who should not be on American TV. I could write it and then make a retraction later, maybe with a slight penalty. Just to let him know he is responsible for what he says on TV....:)

Bet if you suggested stopping Brady the same way to him he'd throw a **** fit about how wrong that would be

*******!

I agree...can you imagine the uproar if he found out that Roy Williams and Ken Hamlin were discussing "taking out Brady" even if meant personal foul calls?

I think it's time for Tom to go.

Glad I don't watch BSPN anymore.

You guys are overreacting just a tad.

Jackson didn't advocate taking him out of the game. He was saying that if Romo wants to get outside the pocket, stay with your man until he crosses the line of scrimmage, and then make sure you hit him hard enough to make him think twice the next time... even if it means getting a 15 yard penalty.

He wasn't saying go for his knee or helmet to helmet. Anyone who thinks these defenders don't think like this already is a little naive. They LOVE to go after the QB.

Honestly, I think it can be looked at as a great compliment to Romo.

You got Tivo, peplaw? Go watch it again! He said nothing about "Romo crossing the line of scrimmage"!

Is this "defense" law practice or something?

He said they need to have discipline to stay on the receiver until Romo crosses the LOS.

Yes, I just watched it again, so apologies to peplaw. However, why would you "teach penalities" like that? That's all good and stuff if that's what you want to teach your team or play dirty like that as a player, remember that the road works both ways, right?

All in all, it's a foolish thing to say on TV. If you want to teach that to your players in the lockerroom, cool...just don't advocate it to the rest of the NFL, it makes him look very foolish!

Goodbye!!

In order to get a 15 yard penalty, they would have to do something ILLEGAL. So it's absurd for Jackson or anyone else to advocate it on TV. I don't think it's an overreaction at all.

Jackson probably just woke up in another cold sweat again after having yet another nightmare about Super Bowl XII, this is just how he vents.

He wasn't "advocating" getting a penalty. He was advocating hitting him hard, and if you get a penalty, so be it.

I swear. They're sitting there doing story after story about Romo -- how he's great outside the pocket and a story comparing his improvisation to Snoop -- and you guys pick one comment and go berserk.

Not every little comment is some piece of anti-Cowboys propaganda. Too much thin skin around here.

I guess I forgot that "other" phrase around here. "Cry about the slightest perceived hatred."

Breath, peplaw, breathe, OK?

If you think what he said is cool, well, cool for you. If that is what you think "sportmanship" should be all about and broadcasted on TV then you need to really think about it...

You don't advocate penalties on national TV, at least if you have half a brain...

That POS.......the only way you get a 15 yard penalty when the QB has crossed the line of scrimmage is either hit him after he slides or hit him out of bounds.

So that ****** is saying defenders should him Romo either after he slides or after he goes out of bounds.

WOW, JUST WOW:(
