At first, Luke Joeckel was the 2013 NFL Draft's clear-cut top offensive tackle. Then Eric Fisher started to give him a run for his money, and Lane Johnson crept into the top 10 discussion. Well, those three tackles may need to make room for a fourth, as Alabama's D.J. Fluker has picked up a full head of steam heading into Thursday's draft.

Fluker has been linked to both the Tennessee Titans and San Diego Chargers, who own picks No. 10 and 11, according to Tony Pauline. Both are in need of help along the offensive line, with the Titans viewing Fluker as an immediate starter at guard, while the Chargers would likely slide him in at right tackle.

Hilarious that most on this board seem to hate Fluker as a prospect, and yet teams picking before us seem quite interested.

There's a fair chance that Fluker won't be available at 18 but Warmack will.

Fluker is a grown man who would be a killer mammoth right guard for the Titans and Levitre would be their move guy at left guard. His size and arm length will probably make him a better inside pass protector than Warmack would be. Personally, I think it is easier for a right tackle to go to right guard than it is for a left guard to go to right.

Fluker would be a great, safe pick for us. We need a right guard and maybe a right tackle if Parnell does not work.

I don't think most of ths board hates Fluker.
I sure don't. I think he steps in a starts day one for whoever drafts him. Not so sure about his upside, but he's ready to play, imo.

I prefer both Guards over Fluker, but Dallas could do worse. If this rumor is correct, that may help.

I just thnik the ones that don't like him are very vocal about it. Usually it is issues with his fit in a ZBS.

I wasn't able to understand what Jerry was getting at yesterday, but he made a string of references to how the economics of the new CBA affects how teams look to compensate OLs, somehow making rookie lineman more attractive than they were previously. I wish I understood what he was getting at, because it seems to me like there are quality veterans out there at both OT and OG who would be willing to play on reasonable contracts still, but, if he's serious, it might account for the sense we're getting all over this year that the OLs are going to come off the boards earlier than they have in previous drafts. I'm still skeptical, but the changes to rookie contracts are significant enough that it might actually create a departure from what we've seen previously in terms of how specific positions are valued.

I'm skeptical, because I don't see the need for QB play to have changed any, and I think teams are still going to reach for play callers more than they should and more than draft analysts are willing to project.
