They need both. But. LB more than DT. What DT would they take at this point that will be better than what they have.
LB they can take and replace a current one

We picked up Sandborn and Murray in FA and have liufau. Do we even have any DT besides OSA and Mazi, like another 1T? We should have picked the big DT Black the Steelers just picked instead of this LB this early, could have likely had him in 6th.

So, many whined they don’t make a trade. Then when the do, they still whine.

Who wanted us to trade up and take a player projected a round or two later?

Watson is going on IR this year but they have to keep him on the roster next year. Flacco is almost certainly the starter as neither rookie is considered pro ready but only 1 of them is likely to make the roster.

Gabriel is almost certainly going to make the roster as they liked him 2 rounds ahead of Sanders and you aren’t cutting your 3rd round pick. Maybe Sanders can beat out Pickett for 3rd string.

Why pick him and not have him compete? You take Gabriel in the 3rd because he's a safe pick. Kid is a Saint off the field, but his upside is very limited. Naming Flacco the starter without seeing what the young guys can do isn't smart football. There's no future there. We don't even know how he will look with another year of wear and tear behind him. The man is 40 years old and was no Tom Brady or Peyton Manning in his prime.

Sanders, despite what people on this board are saying, can play in the pros. He completed 71.8% of his passes at Colorado and showed the ability to make all of the throws needed to run an NFL offense. Attitude is supposedly an issue. None of us can speak on the interviews throughout the draft process, but from a physical standpoint, he has the ability. That doesn't mean he will for sure win the job, but to say he definitely won't is an impossible assessment to make without seeing how he performs in camp.

Ok, honest assessment - I'm underwhelmed with our draft, with 1 6th and 3 7th round picks left. I'm not expecting much. Like the guard, like the edge, not sure about another injured corner. Meh on Blue. What the ! On trading up for the LBer.
It's not a bad draft - i hope, but I certainly don't have the warm and fuzzies at all.

Let's be honest, it was going to take more than one draft to fix our issues considering how little we do in FA.

Lightning speed. WR ability. Can run a little tougher than you would think.

For the LBer they mention during him running his 40 that he was the leaded of the Florida defense. I assume this is a leader/character intangible guy. Also from his draft strengths:

• Four-phase special teams experience.

Teams will still push us around in the run game. But JJ is happy we re-signed Osa, picked up Thomas and have Mazi. Although Osa and Mazi was part of worst run defense in the league.

Yes, they have other DT’s. Look at the roster. Got one in FA actually.

These late round picks are shots in the dark. I doubt the Chiefs and Eagles are improving their teams in the 5th round of the draft.
