I'm not impressed with any of the remaining WRs so no point in drafting anyone this late. Bond is too hot to handle with his legal troubles, especially with it being in Frisco. Too close to home for them to deal with the distraction

I do not love this draft by the Cowboys. The 3 biggest areas of need have not been addressed. I know they drafted Blue, but he is not an every down back. Had they drafted a bigger RB1 type earlier, then taking Blue would have been a much better idea.

I don't like that they have not taken a DT and in all likelihood will not get one better than the JAGs we already have outside of Osa.

I don't like that we are just going to ignore the WR problem, like we ignore the DT problem.

I don't like that we just basically burned a 6th round pick to move up for a player who would probably be there in the 6th round. I get the impression the Cowboys don't want 10 picks and are fine just throwing a couple away.

I think we have another draft where in 3 years only 1 or 2 players will still be playing for Dallas.

That's 95+% of the draft, value-wise

Moaning over 5th rounders is just fun and games.
Maybe someone gets lucky, but normally you don't find much in the 5th and later.
Would I have traded up? No. But really, it's not like we gave up a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Because of the 2 trades - Jerry for Mingo, we had to wait 70 odd picks. Now trading up for an overdrafted Lber, we wait 52 picks. We are not a smart team.
In no way are we catching the Damm Eagles or Chiefs etc. It's not fun being a Cowboys fan these days.

Steelers are going to play Black as a 3-4 5-tech. I would have thought they would play him at NG in that system. He is massive, kind of strange to play him as a DE.

I think we should have picked him instead of that LB that early, I don’t trust our 1T players now.

The 8 fumbles were over his collegiate career. Not his senior year.

He had 4 as a senior. That’s a lot considering he wasn’t even the starter….Wisner rushed for over a 1000 yards and started in the college playoffs. Hopefully Blue can be a big threat and hit some HRs, but he is NOT

Darren Woodson was a LB and did not weigh all that much. Played S. Great pick.
Just keep that in mind. .

I think This LB pick will help with special teams and be used in passing situations in coverage with occasional blitzing.
Let’s also not forget that in this defense, LBs can be very effective without instincts or processing. Eberflus needs 1 LB in the box who does that. His other LB is a guy who doesn’t need to think. “At the snap of the ball, you hit and fill this gap….you blitz off the end….you take this RB or TE in coverage.” That’s why Kenneth Murray and Shamar James fit this defense and fill a need till Overshown returns. Both have been criticized when asked to read and react, but both have speed and quickness; both are physical and are praised for playing downhill. That’s a fit.

Not all LBs have to read and process.

We picked up Sandborn and Murray in FA and have liufau. Do we even have any DT besides OSA and Mazi, like another 1T? We should have picked the big DT Black the Steelers just picked instead of this LB this early, could have likely had him in 6th.

Solomon Thomas as an interior pass rusher, but no other 1T type other than Justin Rogers, who we cut last preseason.
