• Don’t be surprised to see the Lions look long and hard at an offensive tackle if there is no cornerback on the board worthy of the spot. The two names that I keep hearing for Detroit are Nate Solder from Colorado and Anthony Castonzo from Boston College.

Good, I don't particularly like either. No skin off me if we trade past them.

Well, if Smith from USC is supposed to be as good as the hype suggests, they'd be idiots to pass on him. Then again, in the NFC " Norris ", would he be tough enough to handle the LT job ? Packers, Bears, and Vikings ( twice ).. that's alot of tough defenses they have to face.

so you think Dallas passes on him ?

would he be tough enough to face the NFC east ?

and right now Smith will have to have a killer work out to have us take him

the thing I like about Carimi - is that nastey streak he plays with

there have been alot of players that were supposed to be great and turned out as bust. Smith isn't a sure thing. He has never played LT and only started 2 years at RT. Onlt reason why scouts like him his because of how quick he is and his athletic ability. Every coach sees that and thinks they can make him a LT. Well thats how you get a bust. Trade back, get the for sure RT, and add a pick or two.
I would much rather have Carimi and another one or two picks than just have Smith. I wouldn't be comfortable going into next season with smith as my starter. But Carimi is NFL ready its like adding a good young FA.
