So, I dropped DirecTV which means I lose NFL Sunday Ticket. Well, it seems DirecTV is now offering NFL Sunday Ticket streaming over the Internet even to non-DirecTV subscribers at $350.

I debated long and hard and finally decided against it since they show around 10-12 Cowboys games in my area anyhow. I didn't completely go against it, I decided to sign up for NFL Game Rewind which is only $39 for the year. It sucks that if can't see the game live, as I will have to wait until after it's over, but the value is definitely there with NFL Game Rewind at close to a 10th of the price and basically will only be used for 4-6 games a year.

On the other hand, you have to divide $350 by four ($87.50) or six ($58.33) games depending on how many were actually shown in the area. That is a ridiculous price to watch a three hour game on TV.

If I must see a game live, I can just hit up a bar. I almost always re-watch games though so this is good for that. I can watch any games too, since before I only DVRed the Cowboys game. (Redzone kicked *** though, but you couldn't really rewind and watch all of those games)

I believe Hostile does this Game Rewind, does anyone else?

I don't do it yet, but living up here in Seattle and not being able to get satellite where I live, I'm definitely going to be getting NFL Game Rewind.

Now, it'll suck not being able to watch live, but I'll get over it.

How long after the live game does it take them to have it available for game rewind?

I've been subscribing for a couple of years now. The quality of the video is HD and you get to watch the entire game without the ads. You can't watch game rewind while there is a game being played live, so not on sunday and monday night. The sunday games can be viewed at midnight sunday night I believe.

They also have a promo right now where if you subscibe to the preseason pass for $19.99, you can get the game rewind for the regular season for $29.99. So if you are planning on getting the game rewind, u get the preseason pass for 10bucks.....

I just read this:

You’ll get every single game of the 2011 NFL regular season on demand, plus the entire archive of games from 2010 and 2009. Games are streamed in High Quality and all games are available the next morning by 6am Eastern, with the exception of night games which are available by noon the next day.

So, it looks like next day unless that changes for this season.

It also says all commercials and half time breaks are removed and it's the same network broadcast so it has the announcers too. (not like the condensed baseball game on MLB.tv that has no announcers) I like this idea, if I'm not watching it live, I would MUCH rather it not last three hours. It should be less than two hours I would guess with everything cut out.

Hmm, I was going to subscribe to the preseason at $20, but decided against it since I had already missed the first one. (was out of the country last week)

I will see if I can swing this deal even after I got the Rewind.

You obviously have a computer. Every game not on TV in your area will be streamed on the internet. You just have to find it. There is ususally a link posted here.

Yep, though quality of the stream is usually terrible to absolutely horrid. :bang2:

I just subscribed.

And just a warning, but I went and clicked the add NFL Rewind package to my already existing Preseason package and it bought it in a single click. There is no confirmation screen. So, unless you REALLY wanna buy it right then, don't click that add button.

I'm trying to get them on their "chat" feature to see if I can get that deal, but they never answer and it ends up saying try again. :(

Since I already have Rewind, they aren't offering that deal to get the Preseason package.

Okay, just talked to them.

They do not offer that discounted price if you order Rewind first, then Preseason. To allow me to get the offer, he refuned $10 and then told me I could now subscribe to Preseason at regular price. (which I immediately did)

So, if you did get Rewind first, just call, email, or online chat with them and they will refund $10 so you get the discount.

I'm happy! :)

Let us know how you like it this year.

I don't see shelling out more money for Sunday Ticket next year.

This looks like a viable option.

I will never go without it again for as long as they offer it, unless the price gets stupid.

The only bad thing about this is, for example, if I don't get a Cowboys game I don't want to hear about the game so that I can go in to the game not knowing what happened. Trouble is, that means you can't watch any of the games that ARE airing on TV live, as you'll get updates or see the score. You also can't browse places like CZ because you'll be let in on it.

I'm the kind of guy where I just don't want to know the results. If I know the Cowboys have lost I'm far less excited about watching the game.

Even if I don't keep up with any of the games, if dallas gets beat, I can tell by the number of phone calls/texts I get ....:banghead:
Plus, if you know dallas has won, you can relax and watch it without any tension....:D

Haha...still hard when all your friends are talking fantasy after service and checking their smart phones. Then it's impossible to open up a webpage like Yahoo without seeing scores...

Hard does not equal impossible.

:p:

As of Saturday I don't have TV at all. So this is how I will be watching games unless I go visit someone or hit a sports bar.

Why would you have no TV as of Saturday?
