This is a thread meant for discussing the upcoming game tonight between the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns in Canton. Yes, NFL Football is back. I know it's preseason, but it's been a long offseason. So, I figured I'd make this thread to discuss the return of NFL Football.

Start of a memorable weekend for two Dallas Cowboys Legends - Chuck Howley (long overdue) and DeMarcus Ware.

Both teams in tonight's game also will have longtime stalwarts for their franchises being honored in Canton this year -- Joe Klecko and Darrelle Revis (for most of their careers) with the Jets, and Joe Thomas with the Browns.

SInce I've rarely watched both teams over the years, I'll peek in a little bit to get familiar with their draft picks and young players that will be on the field tonight.

Probably 80% of the fans that will tune in to the Hall of Fame game will be fans of either the Jets or Browns. Fewer fans are tuning into preseason games these days. Very few starters are playing in them. I only watch the Cowboys preseason games. I can remember when starters played into the third and fourth quarter of every preseason game. They used to have six preseason games.

Can’t stand Rodgers. Can’t stand Watson. Hopefully they both get food poisoning in the hotel cafe since they won’t be playing and can’t get hurt.
Neither is likely to dress. Or if they do they hand it off 3 times and hit the bench

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOURTH STRING LEVEL FOOTBALL?!?
Definitely
Let's not forget...August also means the start for the other two levels of our great game.

High School: regular season begins August 24th in Texas; August 18th in Georgia (I live in Metro Atlanta).

College: regular season begins August 26th.

All the people saying they are not going to watch will be glued to the their TVs at game time. I promise you that.

Not sure why some think it's cool to say you won't be doing something that you 100% will be doing.
I’ll be watching it for sure……even this game is better than any baseball game.

the only way I’d stop watching it, is if they announce that the Jets acquire Zack Martin in a trade.

I appreciate the honesty. One can do baseball and football at the same time. Sometimes people ask why I have multiple screens in the cave. There are times the Packers, Brewers, and some Badgers sports event are all on at the same time. Yes, I watch Badgers women's Volleyball also. Problem with that? Haha. Season starting here soon. I hear FOX is showing Live Badgers Volleyball nationally after one of the Packers and Vikings games this year.

On Wisconsin!

I'm going to a concert tonight, so I will miss the rookie scrimmage tonight between two teams I don't root for.

But, hey, best of luck to all the participants who will begin their careers as cab drivers and insurance salesmen another month.

I understand that the two can be watched simultaneously, but baseball is just one sport I can’t watch on TV.

Hockey, Basketball, MMA, Sumo, Motorsports, Cornhole, etc, are all things I put before baseball

Thanks, Doc. Try as I might, I don't care about a rookie scrimmage by two other teams. Plus the number of penalties in this thing will be excruciating.
Next week, however, my Saturday activities will be organized around the Cowboys game, rookie scrimmage that it will be.
