The following quotes are from NFL scouts, coaches and front-office personnel, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Jason Witten

Jason Witten is not the biggest, fastest or strongest, but he knows how to play the game. He can set up defenders in coverage and get separation even though he is not a blazer. To me, there are none better. At that position, it’s very important to be a good football player, to be crafty and understand the nuances of the game. You could be the greatest athlete in the world and it will not matter. I’ll take Witten over Ben Watson or Vernon Davis every day of the week.”

“What has Marcus Spears done for the Cowboys outside of getting his (butt) handed to him? And Bill Parcells had to be talked out of drafting him sooner. He wanted to take him where they got DeMarcus Ware.”

 I'd hate to be the person that has to hand Spears butt to him.

That thing is huge.

Jason may just be the smartest. He and Romo seem to have the same connection that Troy and Jay had.

Couldn't of said it better myself. Jason will be all of the field, split wide and should put up numbers similar to last year.

I think Witten is top 3... As far as Spears go, the guy is a run stuffer at end, he does enough to keep a job.

Voting 2007 All-Pro Team
Tight End
Jason Witten, Dallas, 33
Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City, 8
Antonio Gates, San Diego, 6
Kellen Winslow, Cleveland, 2
Chris Cooley, Washington, 1

Only one TE makes first-team All-Pro, and it wasn't even close.

So Witten made All Pro? I didn't know that, when was this released?

That sure speaks volumes. I think that only Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates are in the same league and I would not trade him for either.

Wasn't it Hostile that impersonated Spears' butt one time? He sent in a question to Spagnola with the name Hugh Jass and Mickey printed it! :D
