M. Mortenson was talking about the Bills starting EJM at QB but the coaches not being happy about it. He said the front office made the move to trade Cassel to us against the wishes of the coaching staff, who thought he was the better player. Let's pray he can instill some confidence in this offense and spark a few wins.

I really hope so

Most of us are hoping and some are fairly confident he'll be at least a little better than Weeden and possibly much better. I'm in the latter group. Others are ready to move on to the draft. I think they are classic fair weather fans but we'll welcome them back on the bandwagon like we always do.

I don't think he will be expected to light up the scoreboard. I think if he can complete some passes when the defense is giving us obvious single coverage mismatches or find some holes in the zone we will be happy enough.

I hope he doesn't feel pressure to push the ball downfield into bad coverage. Just the talk of him throwing downfield should give the Giants reason to not sell out against the run. Plus our running game has proven to not be worth selling out against.

If I am a defensive coordinator against us right now I would call a balanced game plan. No reason to force either run or pass to beat you when neither has show the ability to really hurt you. With Dez coming back he will deserve a safety over the top or a second defender.

...And we care what they say because....???

because manual Is worse then weeden and cassel combined and the bills coaches are hoping that they can win by running the ball all day so manual does not have to even attempt a pass.

EJ Manuel is a prime example of why you don't want to wait until you absolutely need a QB to draft one. The Bills reached in a shallow QB draft and he's been busto.

Cowboys have maybe a 2-3 year window to get a legit successor in the building. QB must be in play from 2015 RD 1 on.

Most of us go down with the ship like the band on the Titanic lol I was talking to a few Boys fans who said if we can't get our main pieces back completely healthy then why pick in the 20s when you can pick in the top 10 of every round

They need to get a QB for the future and a RB for the next 7 or 8 years.

Because if its accurate it means the coaching staff wanted to keep Cassell over Manuel. And if thats the case we should be very thankful because we probably would have traded for Manuel and he is awful

Manuel is not that bad. He played on par with Taylor and Cassel in Preseason. I would take him over Weeden any day.

The run is not successful because teams focus on shutting it down...so they shouldn't do that because it's working?

Completely agree. I think that the words "in play" are key here. I dont think we need to just draft a QB to draft one, but the front office (Will McClay and Stephen) have earned my trust over the past several years so if they feel a QB is worth a particular pick and pull the trigger, I am good with it. That said, I would rather take a WR, RB, FS, DT, RT, CB over an extreme (QBs are always overvalued) reach at QB.

Thanks for the info. That is interesting.

The Cowboys were in both the Falcons and Saints games and could have won with just a little better QB. The Giants seem like a similar level of team to those. If Cassel can just be decent the Cowboys can definitely win the Giants game and anything is possible after that.
